摘要： A device (10) includes a passive infrared sensor (20) for user interface. When a user places his finger over the infrared sensor (20), the sensor (20) generate a digital signal indicating the time, position, or movement of the user finger over the sensor (20). A digital signal processing unit (12) processes the digital signal through preinstalled algorithms and generates a command to execute the user instruction through infrared interface. In operation, the user finger does not need to touch or press the infrared sensor (20). In addition, the passive infrared sensor (20) may be packaged under a cover to protect the sensor (20) from hazardous elements in the environment.

Therefore, the disclosure provides more flexible ways for a user when taking positions as the first priority not a particular time point.

摘要： The present invention discloses an apparatus and a related method for achieving the purpose of improving the computer performance while inputting characters by using personal digital assistant (PDA) devices. The parallel port of the computer is connected with the PCMCIA (Personal Computer Memory Card International Association) card of the PDA device, and then a handshaking scheme is applied to establish a connection between the PC and the PDA device. After the connection has been successfully established, the input characters are transferred from the PDA device by parallel transformation without increasing the loading of the computer.

摘要： In a computer database synchronization method, a first database with first object data and a second database with second object data are established in a personal computer and an electronic dictionary, respectively. First and second synchronization status tables are established for each of the first and second object data, respectively. The synchronization status tables are modified from a first state, indicating that the corresponding object data is synchronized with the first or second database, to a second state, indicating that the corresponding object data is not synchronized with the first or second database, when the corresponding object data is edited. Synchronizing of the first and second databases can begin when a communications link is established between the personal computer and the electronic dictionary. During synchronizing, the personal computer retrieves the second synchronization status tables from the electronic dictionary, and compares the second synchronization status tables with the corresponding first synchronization status tables. Based on the results of the comparison, the personal computer retrieves the corresponding second object data from the electronic dictionary, and updates the first database with the retrieved second object data, or transmits the corresponding first object data to the electronic dictionary for updating the second database with the transmitted first object data.
