    摘要: A display data correction apparatus is provided with: a control circuit responsive to an input gray-level value for initially providing first to N-th control points (N≥3) defined in a coordinate system in which a first coordinate axis is associated with the input gray-level value and a second coordinate axis is associated with an output gray-level value to be calculated for the input gray-level value; and a processing circuit obtaining an output gray-level value by repeating an update operation in which the first to N-th control points are updated. The degree (N−1) Bezier curve is used as an approximated curve of the gamma curve. The output gray-level value is finally obtained as the coordinate value of a specific point in the degree (N−1) Bezier curve along the second coordinate axis, where the specific point has the coordinate value closest to the input gray-level value along the first coordinate axis.

    摘要: A display system includes: a display device, a transmitting device which generates compressed data by performing a compression process on image data corresponding to a display image, and a driver which drives the display device in response to the compressed data received from the transmitting device. The driver includes: a decompression circuit which generates decompressed data by decompressing the compressed data, an FRC circuit configured to perform an FEC process on the decompressed data to generate display data and a drive circuit which drives the display device in response to the display data. The following relation holds: m2>m3>m1, where m1 is a number of bits of the compressed data per pixel, m2 is a number of bits of the decompressed data per pixel and m3 is a number of bits of the display data per pixel.

    摘要: A display device is provided with a display panel; first to n-th cascade-connected drivers (n being an integer of two or more); a controller transmitting compressed image data to the first driver. The i-th driver of the first to n-th drivers includes a drive circuitry driving the display panel; a first bus adapted to data transfer to the (i+1)-th driver of the first to n-th drivers; a second bus adapted to data transfer to the driver circuitry; and a decompression section receiving the compressed image data from the (i−1)-th driver of the first to n-th drivers or the controller. The decompression section of the i-th driver transfers the received compressed image data to the (i+1)-th driver through the first bus thereof, when the received compressed image data are not associated with the i-th driver. When the received compressed image data are associated with the i-th driver, the decompression section of the i-th driver decompresses the received compressed image data to generate decompressed image data and feeds the decompressed image data to the drive circuitry through the second bus. The drive circuitry drives the display panel in response to the decompressed image data.

The correction circuit is configured to generate a corrected gray-scale data on the basis of input gray-scale data. The driving circuit is configured to drive the display panel in response to the corrected gray-scale data. The correction circuit generates the corrected gray-scale data by executing a correction using a polynomial in which the input gray-scale data are used as variables. Coefficients of the polynomial are changed in response to an output signal of the environmental sensor.

    摘要: A control driver for a liquid crystal display panel includes: an operation circuit, an LUT (Look-up Table), and a linear interpolation D/A converter. The operation circuit performs a certain operation on input image data to generate operation data, and outputs higher order bit data and lower order bit data of the operation data. The LUT includes a V-T (Voltage-Transmittance) characteristic of the liquid crystal display panel, and outputs first output data and second output data as display data based on the higher order bit data and the V-T characteristic. The linear interpolation D/A converter performs an linear interpolation operation and D/A conversion to generate output voltage supplied to the liquid crystal display panel in response to the first output data, the second output data and the lower order bit data.

    摘要: To provide a technique for protecting a fast interface for transferring image data among a plurality of cases from noise caused by controlling of the brightness of the backlight. The mobile terminal according to the present invention has a body case 1, a display part case 2, a coupling mechanism 3 for coupling them, a CPU 11, an LCD panel 13, a controller driver 15 for driving the LCD panel 13, a backlight 17 and a backlight driver 16. The CPU 11 is mounted to the body case 1, while the LCD panel 13, the controller driver 15, the backlight 17 and the backlight driver 16 are mounted to the display part case 2. The controller driver 15 drives the LCD panel 13 in response to the image data received from the CPU 11 via an interface signal line 18, while supplying the brightness control signal 21 for controlling the backlight 17 to the backlight driver 16.
