摘要: This invention relates to a method and system to detect hysteresis/unstable regions of multi-section lasers. The method comprises the steps of obtaining a first set of measurement values for the output of the laser diode by increasing a first current through a range of values in a positive direction, increasing a second control current by a step, obtaining a second set of measurement values for the output of the laser diode by decreasing the first control current through a range of values in a negative direction, and increasing a second control current by a step. The process is repeated until a sufficient range of the second control currents has been used to provide resultant data which can then be processed in order to identify regions of hysteresis of the laser diode.

摘要: An assembly for packaging a catheter includes flexible tubing capable of being coiled, and tubular retainer having a passageway extending therethrough. The tubular retainer includes a distal section for coupling to a proximal end of the tubing. A proximal end of the tubular retainer includes an opening for receiving a luer of the catheter assembly. A keyway is provided at a proximal end of the tubular retainer, the keyway being adapted to receive an inflation port of the luer. The keyway may include a snap point at a proximal end thereof, wherein the snap point is dimensioned such that a force is required to pass the inflation port past the snap point, thereby resulting in a snap fit. The keyway may include an entry portion beginning at the proximal end of the tubular retainer, and a nose portion disposed distal of the entry portion, with a snap point disposed therebetween. Depending on the length of the entry portion, a portion of the luer may be protected by the tubular retainer. The snap point provides a snap fit for the luer within the tubular retainer.

摘要: Dry, enteric, film-coating compositions and aqueous dispersions containing the same are disclosed. When applied to orally-ingestible substrates such as oral solid dosage forms, the film coatings are capable of preventing the substrates from disintegrating in media with pH values from about 1 to about 4.5 or higher values. One preferred film-coating composition contains a micronized intermediate comprised of an acrylic resin and talc. Advantageously and surprisingly, the preferred film-coating composition does not contain an alkalizing agent.

摘要: The invention provides a method to compensate for degradation in a tunable laser and ensure its performance by tracking the degradation and adjusting the control information accordingly. This is accomplished by performing some measurements of the output of the tunable laser at an initial setup or calibration procedure. Then, by effecting a periodic repetition of these measurements and using a comparison between these two measurements the present invention provides for a compensation factor for the operating conditions, primarily in the form of a look up table of operating points of the laser. These measurements show how much the operating points of the laser have drifted over the period since the last set of measurements, which provide control information to compensate for degradation in the laser.

摘要: A liner (18) installed in a transition region (16) between a combustion section (12) of a gas turbine engine (10) and an air discharge section (14) of the turbine. The liner has an air inlet (26) for admitting air into the liner, and an air outlet (28) by which air is discharged from the liner. Flow of air through the liner acts to cool air flowing through the transition region of the turbine between the combustion and air discharge sections thereof, so to lower the temperature from between 2800-3000° F. to around 1400-1550° F. The liner has at least one channel (C1, C2) formed in it for flow of air through the liner. The height of this channel uniformly decreases along the length of the channel from the liner's air inlet to its air outlet. This liner construction reduces the thermal strain occurring at the aft end of the liner, prolonging the useful life of the liner, while reducing the amount of air needed to flow through the liner to affect a desired level of cooling in the transition region.

摘要: A combustor for a gas turbine includes a main fuel injector for receiving compressor discharge air and mixing the air with fuel for flow to a downstream catalytic section. The main fuel injector includes an array of venturis each having an inlet, a throat and a diffuser. A main fuel supply plenum between forward and aft plates supplies fuel to secondary annular plenums having openings for supplying fuel into the inlets of the venturis upstream of the throats. The diffusers transition from a circular cross-section at the throat to multiple discrete angularly related side walls at the diffuser exits without substantial gaps therebetween. With this arrangement, uniform flow distribution of the fuel/air, velocity and temperature is provided at the catalyst inlet.
