    摘要: A non-toxic, edible, enteric film coating, dry powder composition for use in making an aqueous enteric suspension which may be used in coating pharmaceutical tablets comprises a) an acrylic resin, said resin comprising i) from 20 to 85 percent by weight of at least one alkyl acrylate or alkyl methacrylate moiety, ii) from 80 to 15 percent by weight of at least one vinyl or vinylidene moiety having a carboxylic acid group capable of salt formation, and iii) from 0 to 30 percent by weight of at least one other vinyl or vinylidene moiety copolymerizable with i) and ii), b) an alkalizing agent capable of reacting with the acrylic resin such that, after reaction, 0.1 to 10 mole percent of the acidic groups in 1a-ii) are present in the salt form, and c) a detackifier.

    摘要: Dry, enteric, film-coating compositions and aqueous dispersions containing the same are disclosed. When applied to orally-ingestible substrates such as oral solid dosage forms, the film coatings are capable of preventing the substrates from disintegrating in media with pH values from about 1 to about 4.5 or higher values. One preferred film-coating composition contains a micronized intermediate comprised of an acrylic resin and talc. Advantageously and surprisingly, the preferred film-coating composition does not contain an alkalizing agent.

    摘要: A biopsy needle insertion guide and method of use with an ultrasound probe in medical procedures to accurately position biopsy needles in internal tissues. The insertion guide comprises a body which is removably mountable on an ultrasound probe and which comprises a clamp affixable about the probe and an elongated adjustment guide extending from the clamp in a direction perpendicular to the probe. A slide block engages the adjustment guide and is slidably adjustable therealong and a biopsy needle holder and guide assembly is carried by the slide block and is adjustably extendable from the slide block in a direction parallel to the probe. A method of use is described wherein the insertion guide is used to accurately place biopsy needles in a human prostate, the needles being then used to accurately place cryoprobes in the prostate for cryogenic surgery of the gland.

    摘要: The present invention is directed to a closed circulation tissue warming apparatus for use during surgery to maintain the temperature of tissues at a desired level and to a method of using the apparatus in prostate surgery particularly during transperineal cryoablation of the prostate gland in human males to maintain the temperature of the urethral tissues and thereby prevent urethral sloughing. It may also have utility where it is desired to lower the temperature of surrounding tissues, such as during laser ablation. The apparatus includes a multi-lumen catheter inserted into the urethra and connected to a fluid warming and circulation control means whereby warmed water is circulated through the lumens at a controlled flow rate and temperature. The concentric lumen structure of the catheter provides improved flow and even temperature maintenance along the length of the catheter and the urethra.

    摘要: A modular tool storage assembly for organizing and transporting tools includes a case and a lid that is hingedly coupled to the case for opening and closing the case. A pair of support rails is each positionable in the case having each of the support rails being spaced apart from each other. A plurality of storage units is provided and each of the storage units has a plurality of elastic compartments attached thereto. Each of the elastic storage compartments on each of the storage units can store a respective tool. A selected number of the storage units are positionable to releasably engage the support rails having the selected number of storage units being vertically oriented in the case. In this way the storage units and the case can both organize and transport the tools.
