This sensor comprises an electrode system including a working electrode and a counter electrode, for forming an electrochemical measurement system by coming in contact with a supplied solution; an electrically insulating supporting member for supporting the electrode system; a first reagent layer formed on the working electrode; and a second reagent layer formed on the counter electrode, wherein the first reagent layer comprises an enzyme as the main component, and the second reagent layer comprises an electron mediator as the main component.

    摘要: The biosensor of the present invention has a reaction layer that contains at least an oxidoreductase and an electron acceptor and is formed on an electrode system including a working electrode and a counter electrode on a base plate. The working electrode, the counter electrode, and lead conductors connecting with these electrodes are made of carbon. The counter electrode is formed in a substantially C shape, and the working electrode is arranged in a recess of the substantially C-shaped counter electrode. An insulating layer surrounds the counter electrode and the working electrode. A cover member with a groove is combined with the base plate to define a sample supply channel that is formed therebetween and runs toward the electrode system. The groove extends from one end of the base plate and passes over the electrode system, and the insulating layer extends to an air hole formed in a terminal of the groove of the cover member. This arrangement prevents exposure of part of the lead conductor connecting with the working electrode to the sample solution and development of an error in measurement.

    摘要: An apparatus for determining the concentration of a substrate in a sample solution using an electrode system comprising a working electrode, a counter electrode, and a reaction layer which contains at least an oxidoreductase and an electron mediator and is formed on the electrode system to electrochemically measure a reduced amount of the electron mediator resulting from enzyme reaction in the reaction layer, wherein a third electrode is formed as an interfering substance detecting electrode. A current flowing between the counter electrode and the third electrode is measured which is taken as a positive error. Subsequently, voltage application between the counter electrode and the third electrode is released and a voltage for oxidizing the reduced form electron mediator is applied between the working electrode and the counter electrode to measure a current flowing between the two electrodes.

    摘要: The present invention provides a method for quantifying a substrate having improved measurement accuracy and measurement sensitivity. According to the method for quantifying the substrate of the present invention, a constant voltage is applied to an electrode system, between a working electrode and a counter electrode, via a resistor connected in series with the electrode system after placing a sample solution containing the substrate on the electrode system, so as to oxidize an electron acceptor, which has been reduced by an enzyme reaction of the substrate, thereby determining a concentration of the substrate included in the sample solution based on an oxidizing current flowing in the course of oxidation.

    摘要: An examination system for bodily fluids includes a vessel-like examination unit having an opening, a sensor for examining the bodily fluids, and a bodily-fluids-oozing device. This system is further provided with a pump for decompressing the inside of the unit and an electromagnetic cross-valve for releasing the decompressed condition, or still further provided with humidifying means for supplying vapor inside the unit, in addition to the pump and the valve. As a result, the system produces a precise measurement with a little amount of bodily fluid.
