摘要: Provided herein are exemplary embodiments of an efficient pump apparatus. In one embodiment the pump apparatus comprises a piston assembly loosely disposed within a cylinder. The piston assembly includes a driving cable connecting a top leaky piston and a bottom leaky piston having a check valve connected thereto. The cylinder includes an outlet pipe at an upper portion thereof and a check valve located at a lower end of the cylinder. The pistons move in the cylinder at a velocity relative to the conduit such that as the pistons move along the cylinder they create a substantial tortuous leak path forming a hydrodynamic seal between the pistons and the cylinder.

摘要: A counterbalance mechanism for height adjustable computer equipment supports and the like that includes a drive shaft mounted on an associated support for axial rotation. The drive shaft is operably connected with a worksurface to facilitate vertical adjustment of the same within a predetermined range. The counterbalance mechanism has a first energy storage device operably connected between the support and the drive shaft, which applies a first axial torque to the drive shaft in a first rotational direction. The first energy storage device is configured such that the first axial torque diminishes at a predetermined rate as the drive shaft rotates in the first rotational direction. A second energy storage device is operably connected between the support and the drive shaft, and applies a second axial torque to the drive shaft in a second rotational direction, opposite to the first rotational direction, thereby defining a resultant counterbalance force which facilitates vertical adjustment of the worksurface. The second energy storage device is configured such that when the drive shaft rotates in the first rotational direction, the second axial torque diminishes at a rate which is substantially equal to the predetermined rate of the first energy storage device, whereby the resultant counterbalance force remains generally constant throughout the predetermined range of vertical adjustment of the worksurface.

摘要: The shutter blades of a scanning blade shutter and the movable element of an adjustable focus lens in a single lens reflex camera are actuated by a single or common drive. The scanning blade shutter is coupled to the common drive by a rotatably mounted beam member. The movable lens element is also coupled to the common drive through a drive link assembly and the same beam member. Actuation of the beam member by the common drive simultaneously moves the shutter blades in the single lens reflex camera toward their closed positions and moves the lens element coupled thereto by a drive link assembly toward a rangefinder-determined lens focal position. A solenoid coupled to a drive link in the drive link assembly and responsive to rangefinder-derived object distance signals actuates the drive link to uncouple the movable lens element from the beam member when the movable lens element has been moved to a particular focal position determined by the rangefinder. The common drive then moves the shutter blades to their full closed positions after the movable lens element has been uncoupled. The drive link connection between the beam member and the movable lens element is re-established subsequent to film exposure to thereby enable the common drive to return the movable lens element to its initial focal position while moving the shutter of the single lens reflex camera to its full open position.

摘要: A folding camera including first, second and third housings pivotally interconnected for movement between an operative extended position and a folded position, and a source of artificial illumination, e.g., a strobe, which automatically moves into an operative position as the housings move into the fully extended position. A manually operable lever is pivotally coupled to the third housing and coupled to the strobe such that the rotation of the lever from a first position to a second position is effective to initially move the strobe into a retracted position and thereafter continued application of force to the lever causes rotation of the third and second housings into a folded position atop the first housing.
