摘要:
A method of scheduling resources in a communications link wherein a scheduling requests are transmitted from a first entity to a second entity including determining if any of the following conditions exist: the time elapsed since the last scheduling request exceeds a designated time; the up-link requirement exceeds a predetermined level; or semi-persistent scheduling exists; and if so, suppressing the transmission and/or triggering of scheduling requests.

Systems and methods for enabling the dynamic allocation of certain sub frames as downlink or uplink resources in a time division duplexed over the air communications system. A base station or eNB may allocate certain subframes within a repeating radio frame of a TDD configuration as either DL or UL subframes for communicating to user equipment or UE devices to increase efficient use of system resources based on the data to be transmitted. Methods for determining the capabilities of a selected UE and based on the determining step, dynamically allocating certain subframes are disclosed. The methods and systems are compatible with user equipment that does not support the dynamic allocation of subframes.

In accordance with an example embodiment of the present invention, a method comprises establishing a plurality of mode priorities one for each of a plurality of technology modes supported by a user equipment (UE) and selecting a target technology mode that meets at least one current user service requirement of the user equipment and maximizes a power saving based at least in part on a mode priority associated with the target technology mode. The method also includes causing the user equipment to camp on the selected target technology mode and balancing a resource allocation based in part on the selected target technology mode.

An approach is provided for scheduling communication resources to minimize the effects of a measurement gap. The timing between a resource allocation grant for a communication link, corresponding data transmission, and associated error control transmissions is delayed to avoid transmitting data to or receiving data from a user equipment during a measurement gap.

A method of controlling link adaptation and packet scheduling in an HSDPA (High Speed Downlink Packet Access) radio system and an HSDPA base station communicating over a control channel with one or more user equipment units is provided. According to one embodiment the base station includes a device for receiving feedback information from the user equipment. The base station further includes a device for calculating a quality estimate related to the feedback information and executing link adaptation and packet scheduling based on the calculated quality estimate.

A method for compact representation of multi-code signaling that includes determining a number of multi-codes and a code offset. A codeword is formulated that includes a code group indicator and an offset indicator. The codeword represents a compact representation of multi-code signaling and is formulated and may be decoded without the need for a look-up table.
