    摘要: Stackable rotary devices form a multi-position mechanical indicator for a portable data storage cartridge. Each rotary device is a right cylindrical section, and is separately rotatable in a chamber of the cartridge. A peripheral surface of the rotary device has an encoded pattern of 1) at least one cylindrical surface and at least one facet interrupting the cylindrical surface, or of 2) readable indicia, located at various angularly spaced rotational positions. At differing rotational positions of the rotary devices, at least one or none of the facets or readable indicia are positioned at an exterior wall opening of the cartridge chamber.

A plurality of continuous venting valleys in the guiding surface are wholly parallel to a central axis of the cylinder forming axial paddle-like surfaces generating air flow away from the cylindrical guiding surface tending to draw air from the guiding surface. Thus, a tape is allowed to stay in contact with the guiding surface. Because of the continuous venting valleys, the roller cylinder is made by molding or extrusion.

    摘要: An electrical connection of a transfer station releasably, repeatably electrically couples with respect to a matching connection of a portable cartridge. A substrate in the portable cartridge has electrical contacts on a facing surface. In the transfer station, a matching circuitized flexible substrate has electrical contacts on a facing surface thereof, which are arranged to match the portable cartridge electrical contacts when in a face-to-face relationship. An elastomeric compression element, at the rear of the matching substrate, has individual protruding compression members contacting the rear surface and registered with corresponding individual electrical contacts. Elongated electrical contacts are registered with two adjacent individual compression members. A loader engages the portable cartridge, registering the cartridge substrate contacts in face-to-face relation with the matching flexible substrate electrical contacts, and exerting a normal force to the cartridge to compress the compression element and create non-wiping contact between the facing electrical contacts.

    摘要: A Cistern 100 comprises an upper water tank 102 as a first chamber, and a lower water tank 104 as a second chamber connected by an opening 106. At the top of the upper tank 102 a mains water inlet 108 allows mains water into the tank through an inlet valve 110, which is under the control of an upper float 112. An auxiliary water inlet 114 allows water from an auxiliary supply (not shown), such as condensate from an air-conditioning unit, into the tank 102. At the bottom of lower tank 104 is an water outlet 116, which allows flushing water from the lower tank 104 to flush an appliance (not shown) under the control of an outlet valve 118. The outlet valve 118 is under the control of an actuator 120, which is configured to move up and down, and is also under the control of a lower float 122. The cistern is able to make use of condensate or other unwanted fluid that would otherwise be discarded. This allows a considerable saving of mains water.
