摘要: A method and system for providing a common operating system feature set for supporting a variety of operating system configurations is described. The common operating system feature set is organized to provide a minimal memory footprint applicable to a number of devices and methods of deployment. The common operating system includes dependencies among operating system components that provide a selection of integrated components that are validated for reliability. The common operating system includes an application program interface set that provides functionality for a variety of operating system scenarios.

摘要: A method for converting between relatively close field rates of perhaps 60 Hz and 59.94 Hz, monitors the phase difference between input and output field rates. Initially, output fields are created by synchronizing input fields. As the measured phase passes a threshold, the method switches to interpolation mode for a short, fixed interval and then returns to synchronization. The method offers much of the sharpness associated with simple synchronization but avoids the visible discontinuities of field drops or repeats.

摘要: The vasoocclusive coil has a primary coil configuration with a helical loop at at least one end. The terminal helical loop can have a J-shaped configuration, preferably with a loop diameter of about 2 mm. The coil is preferably provided with helical loops at both ends, with helical loop at the proximal and distal ends of the coil acting as an anchor to prevent the coil from coming free from the location being treated and escaping into the vasculature. In a presently preferred embodiment both ends of the coil have a J-shape. In another presently preferred aspect, the vasoocclusive coil includes one or more loops intermediate the ends of the coil. The device is formed from a multi-stranded micro-cable having a plurality of flexible strands of a shape memory material and at least one radiopaque strand. The strands can be made of a shape memory nickel titanium alloy, that is highly flexible at a temperature appropriate for introduction into the body via a catheter, and that after placement will take on the therapeutic shape.

摘要: A method and apparatus for feeding yarn to a knitting machine having needle selecting means so that the length of yarn required to be knitted into each sequence of a small number of stitches is not constant. The length of yarn as actually fed to the knitting machine during each sequence of a small number of stitches is measured, and a value or signal representing the actual measured length of yarn is then compared to a predetermined length value which represents or is a function of a predetermined stitch length. The tension in the yarn as fed to the knitting machine is continuously adjusted in response to deviations or differences detected by the comparison of the predetermined and measured length values.

摘要: A back-brace assistive device is provided for supporting a proper lifting posture of a user, including a back-brace assembly featuring a series of interconnected and articulating vertebrae assemblies, as well as an upper back plate assembly and a lower back plate assembly, each in connection with the series of the vertebrae assemblies. Each vertebrae assembly fits into the adjacent assembly via a ball joint, and the series of the vertebrae assemblies couples with the upper and the lower back plate assemblies via additional ball joints. At least one support component extends from the upper back plate assembly, across the series of the articulating vertebrae assemblies, to the lower back plate assembly to provide rigidity and articulation support for the vertebrae assemblies. An anchoring mechanism such as a harness attaches to the back-brace assembly to secure the back-brace assembly to the user's back. Other embodiments are also disclosed.
