Abstract:
In order to reduce computation time and cost involved with determining one or more optimal parameters for a pre-cooling strategy, for a modeled system, a two-step genetic algorithms is used to optimize energy consumption of the modeled system with respect to cost of the energy consumption. A first step of the two-step genetic algorithms determines a population of potential solutions that are used to initialize a second step of the two-step genetic algorithm. The second step of the two-step genetic algorithm determines the one or more optimal parameters for the pre-cooling strategy from the population output by the first genetic algorithm.
Abstract:
A wireless communication device capable of determining its location in an indoor environment is disclosed. In an indoor environment, a wireless communication device may have insufficient access to GNSS satellites or cellular towers to make an accurate determination as to its location. Therefore, the wireless communication device generates a fingerprint map of the environment by estimating its position and scanning multiple positions within the environment for accessible access points and characteristics. The device stores this information in memory, which it can later refer to for determining its current position.
Abstract:
A transmission method and system for Converged IP Messaging (CPM) is disclosed, which can create Message Session Relay Protocol (MSRP) links between a CPM client and an originating participating function entity and between an Inter-Working Function entity (IWF) and the originating participating function entity respectively. The CPM client sends CPM message through each MSRP link to the inter-working function entity which sends the received CPM message to a non-CPM system after the protocol conversion of the CPM message. With the help of the method and system, the transmission link between the sender and the IWF is created by the session invite message of the large message mode CPM, and the content of the large message mode CPM is sent to the IWF which then transmits the content of the large message mode CPM to a non-CPM client of the receiver. The method and system resolves the problem that the content of the large message mode CPM can not be transmitted to a non-CPM system receiver in the prior art and improves the user experience.
Abstract:
Techniques describe providing a web page for a proxy-based browser on a mobile device to enhance user experience. A proxy server receives a layout of the web page, extracts web elements from the web page, and captures images of the web elements of the web page. The web elements are incorporated with a background screen image to form a composite screen format to represent a display of the web page. The background screen image is compressed by splitting an encoded frame into fixed-size slices and splitting a previous screen frame into fixed-size slices. The proxy server provides the web page synchronized with the mobile device based on the composite screen format and the compressed background screen image. Furthermore, the proxy server receives input from a user to provide updates to web elements that are dynamic on the web page to be displayed on the screen of the mobile device.

Abstract:
One or more portions of a compound image may be classified as picture portions and at least one remaining portion of the compound image may be classified as a non-picture portion. A first layer of a layered image may be generated based on the picture portions of the compound image. The first layer may be compliant with a first image format. A second layer of the layered image may be generated based on the non-picture portion. The second layer may be compliant with a second image format that is different from the first image format. The first layer and the second layer may be sent to a web browser. The first format and the second format may be supported by the web browser.
Abstract:
Digital images are resized according to a prescribed image scaling factor. An original image is re-sampled according to the scaling factor, resulting in an initial resized image. A probability of text (POT) map is generated for the initial resized image, where the POT map specifies a smoothed POT value for each pixel in the initial resized image. A weighting factor (WF) map is generated which maps each different smoothed POT value to a particular WF value. The WF map is used to calculate an adjusted luminance value for each pixel in the initial resized image, resulting in a final resized image.
Abstract:
Various technologies for a layered texture compression architecture. In one implementation, the layered texture compression architecture may include a texture consumption pipeline. The texture compression pipeline may include a processor, memory devices, and textures compressed at varying ratios of compression. The textures within the pipeline may be compressed at ratios in accordance with characteristics of the devices in the pipeline that contains and processes the textures.

Abstract:
Various embodiments of the invention provide human kinases and phosphatases (KPP) polypeptides and polynucleotides which identify and encode KPP. Embodiments of the invention also provide expression vectors, host cells, antibodies, agonists, and antagonists. Other embodiments provide methods for diagnosing, treating, or preventing disorders associated with aberrant expression of KPP.
