摘要： When an original image is to be printed as a poster composed of an array of 4×4 output images, an image is generated by enlarging the original image fourfold in the vertical and horizontal directions and dividing the enlarged image into 16 parts. These 16 partial images are output successively starting from the upper left or lower right of the 4×4 array, depending upon the designation. If there is a blank page, the blank page is output as is even if the printer possesses a blank-paper economizing function. Thus, when a poster printing function is used, the user designates the manner in which the enlarged image is divided up and the order in which the divided images are printed. Even if the printer is equipped with the blank-paper economizing function, normal printed results can be obtained merely by joining the output sheets together in the order that conforms to the manner in which the enlarged image was divided.

摘要： In printing a plurality of pages of print data on one paper sheet upon combining the pages, a print control apparatus inputs layout data for determining a layout of the respective pages, extracts a page data portion to be printed as a single page from the print data in accordance with the input layout data, holds the page data portion, and outputs print data generated from the held page data. In this apparatus, when paper sheets are folded to form printed matter with an appearance of a book, a plurality of print page data can be printed in each print area. The apparatus includes a designation unit for making designation with respect to layout data to combine and lay out a plurality of print data pages on one page of bound paper sheets on which printing is performed, and a generating unit for generating print data print data having a plurality of page data laid out on one page of the bound paper sheets in accordance with the layout data.

The data processing apparatus is adaptable to different operation environments of a peripheral device, e.g., geographic difference. Control means of the peripheral device stores a local ID indicative of environment data e.g., a country where the device is used. The local ID is acquired, and then a resource file corresponding to the local ID is acquired. The resource file stores control data of the peripheral device, which changes in correspondence with environment data. Based on the control data, setting of the peripheral device is performed. The local ID is stored so that the local ID can be used in the subsequent processing.

摘要： This invention relates to a printing control method and apparatus, a computer program product, and the like in which printing data is held in a hierarchical structure and a printing job is issued to a printer to cause the printer to print. In the printing control method according to the present invention, different setting values can be set in the lower and upper layers of the hierarchical structure as printing setting data containing double-sided printing or single-sided printing setting. When a setting value different from that of the upper layer is set in the lower layer of the hierarchical structure, the printer is instructed on a setting in the lower layer for each printing data to which the setting value is applied.

摘要： A process for production of a composite porous film wherein a porous support, of which both sides have been coated with a solution (dope) of an organic polymer compound in a water-soluble organic solvent to form a coated film, is passed through an air gap step and conveyed into a coagulating bath comprising water or a mixture of water with the same solvent as the organic solvent, and is then immersed in the coagulating bath so that the coated film on both surfaces of the porous support directly contact the coagulating bath for coagulation, and is then washed and dried. This production process is suitable for production of non-aqueous secondary battery separators, and yields non-aqueous secondary battery separators with good handling properties and at low cost, whereby the ion permeability, adhesion with electrodes and electrolyte solution retention can be strictly controlled.
