摘要: A magnetic card reader module includes a magnetic sensor and an adjacent groove, a microcontroller and an application. The magnetic sensor is configured to pick-up an analog magnetic signal generated by swiping a magnetic stripe through the groove. The magnetic stripe is attached to a card and comprises tracks with magnetically encoded data. The microcontroller is configured to convert the analog magnetic signal into a digital signal. The application is configured to analyze the digital signal, and to perform soft-decision decode of the digital signal and to generate an output comprising the magnetically encoded data and side information providing card swipe information feedback.

摘要: A power management circuitry for a peripheral electronic device includes a power regeneration circuitry, a power selector, a power switch and an audio signal detection circuitry. The power regeneration circuitry receives a continuous periodic sound wave from an audio device and converts the continuous periodic sound wave into an amplified DC electrical signal. The power source selector receives the amplified DC electrical signal and input from a primary power source and provides a power signal output. The audio signal detection circuitry receives the amplified DC electrical signal and transmits a wake-up signal to the power switch circuitry. The power switch circuitry is turned on by the wake-up signal and connects the power source selector to the peripheral electronic device main circuitry and transfers the power signal output to the peripheral electronic device main circuitry.

摘要: A system for accepting the input of a PIN comprises a first device receiving a randomized PIN layout derived on a fourth device. The randomized PIN layout is displayed on a display of the first device. A second device comprises an input for accepting a series of key presses to produce a PIN token. The PIN token indicating each of the series of key presses. A third device is in communication with the second device. The third device derives the randomized PIN layout and receives the PIN token from the second device without the PIN token being present on the first device. The third device combines the PIN layout and the PIN token to produce a PIN. The PIN is used to authenticate a transaction. The fourth and third devices each store a shared secret used to independently derive the randomized PIN layout on the fourth and third devices.

摘要: A system to indicate to a user to enter a personal identification number (PIN) on a commercial off the shelf (COTS) device, the system comprising: a secure card reader communicatively coupled to the COTS device, and wherein the secure card reader receives a payment card; a payment application installed on the COTS device; and one or more devices other than the COTS device. The payment application installed on the COTS device transmits one or more prompts to the one or more devices other than the COTS device based on a set of signals received from the secure card reader. The secure card reader transmits the set of signals after the payment card is received at the secure card reader, and the one or more prompts comprise at least one indication to the user to enter the PIN on a display of the COTS device.

摘要: A system for entering a secure Personal Identification Number (PIN) into a mobile computing device includes a mobile computing device and a peripheral device that are connected via a data communication link. The mobile computing device includes a mobile application and a display and the mobile application runs on the mobile computing device and displays a grid on the mobile computing device display. The peripheral device includes a display and an encryption engine, and the peripheral device display displays a grid corresponding to the grid displayed on the mobile computing device display. Positional inputs on the mobile computing device grid are sent to the peripheral device and the peripheral device decodes the positional inputs into PIN digits and generates an encrypted PIN and then sends the encrypted PIN back to the mobile computing device.

The mobile device is configured to establish an out-of-band audio communication channel to the peripheral device by connecting the audio interface to the second audio interface, the mobile device configured to exchange Bluetooth authentication data with the peripheral device via the out-of-band audio communication channel in response to transitioning to an operating state, the mobile device configured to initialize the Bluetooth transceiver with the Bluetooth authentication data to establish an authenticated and cryptographically protected in-band Bluetooth communication channel allowing the mobile device to be securely paired with the peripheral device.

摘要: A reader device for attachment to a smart device comprising a display, the reader comprising an antenna, processing and reading circuitry, and a communications module, wherein the antenna, the processing and reading circuitry, the processor and the communications module are coupled to each other, and whereby the antenna encloses said display. When a card is tapped on the display, the antenna receives a signal and transmits the signal to the processing and reading circuitry. The processing and reading circuitry processes the signal to produce data, and the produced data is transmitted to a device external to the reader device by the communications module.
