The use of a pressure compensation system and composite polymer materials results in a new type of outboard sensor assembly, of the type used to monitor the status and location of towed array systems from boats. The inventive system is lower in cost, easier to manufacture in quantity, lighter weight, less likely to leak, and with a lower failure rate than conventional systems. The pressure compensation system makes use of a two (or more) phase slurry system to provide temperature compensation.

This invention concerns an acrylate adhesive that cures at room temperature and has excellent dimensional stability. The adhesive may be used in applications such as for fiber optic connectors. The adhesive may be made by curing a two-part system or by use of a primer-based system. The two part system may include an adhesive part A, which may include one or more monofunctional, difunctional, or trifunctional acrylate or methacrylate monomers, a peroxide or hydroperoxide free-radical initiator, an antioxidant, and optionally, additives such as thickeners, thixotropes, and adhesion promoters; and an activator part B, which may contain a N,N-disubstituted aromatic amine, a difunctional methacrylate monomer, an antioxidant, and optionally, additives such as thickeners, thixotropes, and adhesion promoters.

The approach envisions a central microwave unit with a hot air jet impingement oven unit on each side of the microwave section and a conveyor system to carry the food items completely through the appliance from one end to the other and with the two hot air jet impingement ovens equipped with a designed combination of hot air jet impingement jets and solid pins to act as a microwave attenuation system to reduce microwave exposure to cooking personnel to completely safe levels.

A matrix resin composition for fiber reinforced composite materials is described. The resin is thermosetting and achieves a glass transition temperature of at least 177° C. (Tg), obtained by curing at room temperature. The matrix resin will streamline composite fabrication processes by eliminating the need for heating during the cure process. The implications of this development are significant in terms of the ease of use and elimination of procedural steps. While the resin system was developed specifically for vacuum bagging, it is expected to be viable for other composite fabrication methods including resin transfer molding (RTM) and vacuum-assisted resin transfer molding (VARTM). The resin system is viable for use with carbon fiber reinforcements to fabricate laminates at least 0.20 inches thick. The resulting laminates have low porosity and mechanical properties equivalent to those prepared with common epoxy matrix resins.

In addition to the lubricating oil, the grease formulation includes fumed silica, and may contain one or more corrosion inhibitors, an extreme pressure filler such as boron nitride, and optionally one or more polyurethane initiators.

The present invention relates to an energy absorbing composition comprising a core material and an appliqué material. The energy absorbing material may include a core material, such as an aluminum honeycomb or expanded polypropylene (EPP). The energy absorbing material may further comprise a protective material, which is applied to the core material to enhance durability of the energy absorbing material and increase the energy absorbing characteristics of the core The protective material may comprise external polyurethane, polyurea, or other suitable skin forming material and the protective material may be applied to the core material using any viable technique, including spraying or painting. The energy absorbing material of the present invention can withstand multiple impacts without significant loss to its energy absorbing qualities. The energy absorbing system meets or exceeds FMVSS 302 flammability specifications.
