摘要: Apparatus (20) for injection of fluid into extrusion system components such as a preconditioner (24) or extruder (100) is provided, preferably as a composite assembly including a fluid injection valve (52) and an interconnected static mixer section (54). Alternately, use may be made of the fluid injection valve (52) or static mixer section (54) alone. The invention greatly simplifies the fluid injection apparatus used in extrusion systems, while giving more efficient absorption of thermal energy with a minimum of environmental contamination, and the ability to inject multiple streams into the extrusion systems.

摘要: This invention relates to a method and a device for thermally treating flour, especially middlings, for hygienic purposes. The device includes modules which are a first, heatable batch mixer (4) with a pre-mounted depot (1). The batch mixer is connected to a drier/cooler (8) via a lock-like flap system (3). A second batch mixer (12) includes a device (14) for adding additives and a discharge device is mounted behind an additional flap system (11) that is mounted behind the drier/cooler (8).

摘要: In order to produce pellets (22) in a pellet press following a recipe which is constantly being adjusted in order that the physical properties of the pellets are optimized in relation to the total production costs, a method is used where control is effected on the basis of a current sampling of the composition of the raw materials (28, 29) and of the pellets (37, 39), and on the basis of a current recording of the raw materials (30, 4, 5) and of the conditioning means (34, 38).In order to ensure this control a coordinating computer unit (23) is used with subordinate computer units for raw material control (24, 25), economy control (42), pellet manufacturing (26) and stock control (27), which produce signals to the coordinating computer unit (23) in order that same may be adjusted (45, 48) on a constant basis, whereafter the pellets are manufactured.

摘要: A shipping drum containing liquid poloxalene is supported in tilted orientation on a platform scale, and a spigot at the lower end of the drum is operable to cause the poloxalene to flow through piping means and into a pressure vessel. The platform scale provides indication of the amounts of poloxalane received by the vessel. Subsequently, the vessel is sealed and pressurized to approximately 50-60 psi whereupon a valve is opened so that the poloxalene is directed out of the vessel and into a conduit means. A plurality of discharge orifices disposed in the conduit means overlie a dry feed mixer, and the mixer is operable to constantly agitate a quantity of solid carrier such as a vitamin and mineral supplement or, alternatively, a grain such as cracked corn or milo. The mixer provides relative motion between all of the carrier granules and the discharge orifices so that the poloxalene is evenly distributed over substantially all surfaces of the granules.

摘要: A small batch mixer having a cylindrical mixing drum which defines a closed mixing chamber is provided for the mixing of livestock feeds in a dust-free operation. Materials are loaded into the mixing chamber through an access opening in the sidewall whereas materials are unloaded through a discharge outlet in the end-wall. The drum is supported for rotation about its longitudinal axis and is inclined such that the materials move by gravity from the front portion to the rear portion of the mixing chamber. As the drum is rotated, vanes along its sidewall tumbles the materials about the mixing chamber while an auger disposed along the longitudinal axis of the drum conveys the materials from the rear portion to the front portion of the mixing chamber in thereby achieving a thorough mixing of the materials. The auger is supported at only one end of the mixing drum. To unload the feed mixture, an auger tube extension which is slidably mounted on the auger is extended out through the discharge outlet to divert the material flow path from within to a location remote of the mixing chamber.

摘要: An endless conveyor of chain and paddle type is moved longitudinally of a trough member so as to travel in succession along a lower or material receiving section, an upwardly inclined or mixing section and a laterally extended delivery section. The materials supplied to the receiving station are conveyed to the mixing section where they are concurrently elevated and mixed due to the continuous falling downwardly from leading paddles of materials in excess of the conveying capacity of the paddles and the subsequent picking up of such materials by the paddles. The mixed materials are carried to the delivery section for distribution.
