    摘要: A method of making hot mix asphalt using recycled asphalt in which tertiary air is mixed with products of combustion at an exit of a refractory-lined chamber to produce hot controlled temperature process air, the temperature of the tertiary air being increased while the temperature of the products of combustion is decreased to adjust a temperature of the hot controlled temperature process air. Particles of the recycled asphalt are heated by exposing the particles to the hot controlled temperature process air in the rotary counter-flow dryer and mixer and moisture is removed from the recycled asphalt with the hot controlled temperature process air.

    摘要: According to the present invention, an automatic in vitro diagnosis apparatus including an inclined rotating stirrer is an apparatus for the automatic in vitro diagnosis of a clinical specimen or a reagent. The present invention includes: a clinical specimen storage unit which stores a clinical specimen; a reagent storage unit which stores a reagent; a code reader unit which recognizes an identification code attached to the clinical specimen storage unit or to the reagent storage unit; a dispenser which suctions the clinical specimen and the reagent from the clinical specimen storage unit and the reagent storage unit, and transports the clinical specimen and the reagent which are suctioned; and a rotating stirrer which receives the clinical specimen and the reagent from the dispenser and rotates about an axis of rotation so as to stir the clinical specimen and the reagent. The axis of rotation of the rotating stirrer forms a predetermined angle with the direction of gravity, and a series of processes for storing, transporting, and stirring the clinical specimen and the reagent are integrated so as to maximize the efficiency of the stirring and the efficiency of the operations.

    摘要: A multi-point support system with self-aligning trunnions to carry, on a cradle frame, a rotatable cylindrical drum having a pair of trunnion rings spaced along a central longitudinal axis. A thrust bearing connected to the frame engages a trunnion ring to accommodate any horizontal thrust load for an inclined cylindrical drum. Each self-aligning trunnion includes a base plate on which is mounted a trunnion roller with an axis of rotation substantially parallel to the central longitudinal axis of the cylindrical drum. A pair of bearing supports are connected to the base plate transversely with respect to the longitudinal axis of the drum in order to permit arcuate movement of the base plate about one bearing support and to permit tilting movement of the base plate about a transverse axis through the bearing supports. The arcuate and tilting movements of the base plate permit the trunnion roller to maintain full tangential contact with the trunnion ring.

    摘要: A mixer for particulate material has a cylinder supported for rotation about a substantially horizontal axis, the support means being adjustable for elevating its receiving end so as to be operated as a continuous mixer. A plurality of helically flanged screw tubes extend longitudinally as lifters, having their ends secured to the end walls of the cylinder adjacent the wall periphery. As the cylinder rotates the material being mixed is picked up and released by the screw flanges so as to shift parts of the mix axially in either direction. When the receiving end is elevated the total mix is also continually shifted by the incline of the cylinder toward the discharge end. Axial openings at either end are closed by diaphragms, each secured at its center to a rotating tube maintained at a constant angle to the axis of the cylinder by a floor supported bushing.

    摘要: In a treatment and mixing machine, a cylindrical container is rotatable about an upwardly extending axis and the axis is disposed at an acute angle to the horizontal. Materials are discharged from the container through a closeable aperture centrally arranged in its bottom surface. A support post extends into the container from its upper end and a deflector plate with an arcuate shape transverse to the axis of the container is mounted at the lower end of the post and extends from the inner periphery of the container to the adjacent outer periphery of the discharge aperture. The deflector plate is short in the axial direction of the container relative to the axial dimension of the container. Another deflector plate is pivotally mounted on the support post and is movable in the axial direction of the container for controlling the turbulence of the mixing action. The axially movable deflector plate is located behind the other deflector plate in the direction of the path of rotation of the container. Extending downwardly into the material in the container is at least one rotatable tool which is located below the apex of the path of rotation of the container. In use, the container is rotated at a speed so that the centrifugal forces acting on the parts of the material are greater than the weight of the parts and a turbulent mixing action is developed.
