    摘要: A pot is adapted to contain a liquid and separate solids from the liquid. The pot includes a pot body, a cover unit, and a ring-shaped filter plate. The pot body defines a receiving space adapted for receiving the liquid therein, and has a top opening and a pouring opening in spatial communication with the receiving space. The cover unit includes a cover member removably covering the top opening, and an insert member extending downwardly from the cover member into the receiving space. The filter plate is disposed in the receiving space at a position below the pouring opening, is sleeved on one of a bottom portion of the cover member and a top portion of the insert member, and is adapted for filtering out the solids during passage of the liquid therethrough.

    摘要: An apparatus and method for cooling a beverage, through the special design of a container for dispensing a beverage, is disclosed. The beverage remains cold for a period of time while it is inside the container, through contact with a frozen substance consumable substance with a lower temperature than the beverage. The frozen substance is substantially frozen before the beverage is introduced into the container. The beverage and the frozen substance make contact through portions of a barrier structure containing the frozen substance. As the frozen substance melts, it gradually mixes with the beverage, continuing to cool the beverage over a period of time, without ice floating to the top of the container.

    摘要: A container and cold plate combination that keeps liquids cold includes an upstanding hollow post that defines in one embodiment an upstanding cavity having an open end at the lowermost end of the container. A hollow insert is inserted into the hollow post and locked therein. The hollow insert is in sufficient surface contact with the hollow post interior and a bottom surface of the hollow insert is in contact with a cold plate. In another embodiment, the pitcher does not include the hollow post but rather the hollow insert is mounted and interlocked directly to the pitcher bottom so as to extend a predetermined distance upwardly into the interior of the pitcher and its bottom is in contact with the cold plate. The cold plate lowers the temperature of the post and insert and the cold is transferred to a liquid in the container.

    摘要: The present invention relates to a molded, one-piece, chilling pitcher with a compartment for holding a beverage, and an integral dividing wall that forms a wedge-shaped cooling chamber for holding a cooling medium such as ice. The main body of the pitcher is formed by a conical exterior wall and an integral base. The cooling chamber is formed between the arcuate shaped exterior wall and the dividing wall to produce a wedged-shaped configuration that facilitates the filling and emptying of ice into and from the chamber. This wedge-shape and the relatively wide radius of the dividing wall allow ice cubes or chips to be poured into the cooling chamber in a relatively compact manner, and allow the surface of the ice to flushly engage the surface of the dividing wall to improve the cooling rate of the pitcher. The arcuate shape of the dividing wall and wedge shape of the cooling chamber help minimize the volume of the cooling chamber and maximize the surface area of the dividing wall to facilitate the transfer of heat between the beverage and ice and improve the cooling rate or power of the pitcher. The sides of the dividing wall are integrally formed with the exterior wall of the pitcher to provide the structural stability to allow the dividing wall to extend to and be thinner and wider near the top of the pitcher to further improve the cooling rate and efficiency of the pitcher. The dividing wall is vertical or slightly pitched back to help prevent ice and water from spilling into the beverage compartment when pouring the beverage from the pitcher.

    摘要: A thermal coffee carafe for maintaining the thermal energy of a fluid contained within the carafe. The carafe has a heat resistant outer shell capable of resting on a conventional coffee maker appliance's heat generation surface without any deformation. The outer shell is of a shape similar to the appliance's factory supplied carafe so that the carafe of this invention may fit on the heat generation surface of the appliance in place of the factory supplied carafe. The carafe also has an interior globe which only comes in contact with the outer shell at a top opening. The interior globe is the portion of the carafe that holds warm liquids such as coffee. The cavity between the outer shell and the interior globe provides insulation to the contained liquids. The cavity is evacuated to a lower pressure than atmospheric or contains an insulator such as an aerogel or partially contains an insulator and is evacuated adjacent to the insulator.
