摘要: A method for separating lighter components of a hydrocarbon product in a container tank includes introducing the hydrocarbon product into the container tank via an inlet located near or at the bottom of the container tank; routing the hydrocarbon product through a pipe-in-pipe conduit that is at least partially surrounded by a bulk fluid stored in the container tank; providing a vapor-liquid interface that allows efficient evaporation of the lighter components resulting in separation of the lighter components and a processed hydrocarbon product; and routing the processed hydrocarbon product into the annular space of the pipe-in-pipe conduit thereby thermally insulating incoming hydrocarbon product from the surrounding bulk fluid and eliminating or minimizing vapor liquid equilibrium shift of the incoming hydrocarbon product caused by increased head pressure and/or reduction in temperature of the incoming hydrocarbon product.

摘要: Liquid is flash evaporated in a series of cells along and surrounding an exhaust duct to generate a pressurized vapor where at least one of the surfaces is in communication with the source of heat sufficient to maintain the surface at a temperature such that the liquid injected into the chamber is substantially instantly converted to a superheated vapor with no liquid pooling within the chamber. The liquid is introduced by controlled injectors operating at a required rate. Each of the cells is periodically discharged by a pressure controlled relief valve and the vapor from the cells combined to form a continuous stream feeding a turbine or other energy conversion device. The outer wall of the cell is offset so that it contacts the inner wall at one point around the periphery. Heat transfer ribs and bars can be provided in the duct to provide increased heat transfer where necessary.

The casing includes an inner cylinder arranged so as to be fitted to the outer circumferential face of the honeycomb structure, a middle cylinder arranged so as to cover the inner cylinder, and an outer cylinder arranged so as to cover the middle cylinder such that a circumferential flow path serving as a flow path of a second fluid is formed between the inner cylinder and the outer cylinder. The circumferential flow path includes an inner circumferential flow path and an outer circumferential flow path. At least one communication hole that communicates the inner circumferential flow path and the outer circumferential flow path is formed in a portion of the middle cylinder that covers the honeycomb structure.

摘要: Regasification systems and processes for converting liquid natural gas (LNG) from a liquid into a gaseous state are described. The process includes a closed-loop system that uses geothermal wells as a heat source. A warming fluid circulates through the closed-loop system coupled with a geothermal well and a LNG heat exchanger. The warming fluid is heated as it passes through the geothermal well and cooled as it passes through the LNG heat exchanger, thus heating and gasifying the LNG. The cooled warming fluid then returns to the geothermal well. The closed-loop system minimizing environmental impact by eliminating the need to discharge the warming fluid.

摘要: A heat exchanger is comprised of two heat exchanger sections, at least one of which is provided with a floating header to accommodate differential thermal expansion. The two heat exchanger sections are enclosed by an inner shell wall, and an external connecting passage is provided outside the inner shell wall, through which one of the fluids flows between the two heat exchanger sections. The external connecting passage is enclosed by an outer shell. The inner wall is provided with openings which communicate with the external connecting passage. The openings may be in the form of a substantially continuous gap or discrete openings. Specific examples of heat exchangers with this construction include a steam generator, a steam generator and combined catalytic converter, and a water gas shift reactor.

At least one sacrificial anode (11) is positioned in the flow channel (8) such that the sacrificial anode is in electrical contact with the pipe (1).

The system allows for the in situ formation of a reversible plug that can stop the flow of fluid through the conduit, particularly without inducing thermally induced stress fractures or breaches in the conduit. The devices and systems include a thermal transfer device that can be adapted to be in thermal communication with a thermal conducting metal conduit containing a fluid, particularly a flowing fluid. The devices and systems allows for controlled re-heating of the conduit without inducing thermally induced stress fractures or breaches in the conduit to restore fluid flow through the conduit.
