摘要： A flexible tack strip (30, 30′) is provided for mounting the rear hem (28) of a convertible top cover (22) to a vehicle body (12). The tack strip (30, 30′) is preferably glass-filled plastic material (30′) and is sufficiently flexible to enable deformation and insertion through the top storage compartment opening (16) when the topstack (18) is being installed on the vehicle body (12). The tack strip (30, 30′) has at least one stop member (38) which engages a stop clip (42) mounted on the body to limit the upward and forward movement of the tack strip (30, 30′) to secure the cover hem (28) and tension the cover (22) when the top is raised. An optional spring latch (46) can be included adjacent each stop clip to trap the tack strip when installed.

摘要： The invention relates to a folding top for motor vehicles, having a top frame which comprises lateral top supports and a rear hoop. The top has a storage position of the top in an associated top box, into which it can be lowered by folding back the upright top supports about a main axis. The top frame has an articulation, spaced relative to the main axis, of the lateral legs of the rear hoop on the frame members which are jointly moved via the top supports, whereby the rear hoop is displaced backwards relative to the main axis during the lowering process, and having a rearward widening of the top box behind the top box aperture into which the rear hoop projects when the top is lowered. In order that incorrect operation during manual lowering of the top should be reliably prevented, the top supports of the top are retained, when the rear hoop is upright, via locking devices which prevent their folding-back movement and whose locking action can be cancelled by an advance rearward pivoting movement of the rear hoop, the pivot angle of the advance being such that, when the top supports are subsequently folded back, contact-free dipping of the rear hoop through the top box aperture is guaranteed.

摘要： A folding hood for motor vehicles has a dimensionally stable rear window, especially made of mineral glass, which, when the hood is closed, is connected along its lower edge side via a rigidly tensioned tensioning means to a material-retaining hoop forming the lower termination of the hood. When the hood is folded down, the rear window can be folded downwards into a storage position about an axis extending approximately parallel to the lower edge side of the rear window. In order to prevent drumming noises produced during driving operation by flapping movements of the rear window, a support device is arranged on the material retaining hoop, by which the rear window is supported, close to its lower edge side, transversely to the direction of tension of the tensioning means on the material-retaining hoop, while the folding hood remains closed.

In an unfolded use position of the closed top, the folding-top covering is stretched between a roof cap on the front end of the top and a fabric-holding hoop at the rear end of the top, A closure arrangement which can be unlocked, remote-controllably from the interior of the vehicle, comprises a plurality of closures, via which the folding-top compartment lid is held closed and the fabric-holding hoop is held down in the position in which it rests on the folding-top compartment lid. In order to obtain greater constructional freedom in the selection of the operating point, the closure arrangement has only automatic-ejection snap-action closures, each of which can be released via a motorized actuating drive. The actuating drives are activated via the actuation of a switch arrangement in order to release the closures.

摘要： An openable roof includes an expandable and retractable awning frame, and an awning cloth for covering the outside of the awning frame. The awning frame is provided with an awning bow which supports the awning cloth when the awning frame is expanded. The awning bow includes a pair of left and right leg portions extending in up and down directions, and an upper side portion which connects between upper ends of the leg portions in a vehicle width direction. Each of the leg portions of the awning bow is formed with two or more bent parts. At least one pair of the bent parts on each of the leg portions are configured such that moments generated in the awning bow due to a tensile force exerted from the awning cloth when the openable roof is in an expanded state act in such directions as to cancel out each other.

摘要： A Z-fold convertible top has a frame supporting a textile cover. The frame includes support in the form of at least one of a pair of pivoted rails rigidly mounted to a bow, stabilizing other pivoted rails. The stability may be employed to displace a quarter window with the rail in a manner that provides a compact top stack packaged in the vehicle body. The stability is also employed to coordinate sealing engagement of the quarter window with a cloth control link pivoted to the vehicle body ground, but displacing the cloth away from the window during retraction. A worm link may enhance interaction between the cloth control link and the rail supporting a quarter window.
