    摘要: A tie-pad assembly is disclosed which includes a rail; a tie and a rectangular tie-pad plate made of relatively soft elastic rubber material having a plurality of longitudinal grooves provided on upper and lower surfaces thereof. A first pair of cutaway portions are formed in lower side edges of the plate in the longitudinal direction of the rail. The tie-pad plate is disposed between the rail and the tie and is provided with a first pair of reinforcement members made of relatively hard elastic rubber material. These members are each formed with an extending portion to be inserted into the first cutaway portions, and a pressure receiving portion having a height somewhat lower than the maximum thickness of the tie-pad plate. The members are integrally coupled to the tie-pad plate by vulcanization; and an aerial gap is formed between the members and the tie-pad plate when assembled, the gap extending along the top surface of the assembly.

    摘要: A tie plate for mounting railroad track rails on track ties in which the tie plate is formed from a corrosion resistant resilient polymer of dry self-lubricating characteristics, in which the tie plate has its upper side shaped to define along either side of the plate bearing surface to be engaged by the rail base a pair of flexible ridges each defining a flexible lip, with such lips opposing each other and terminating in a marginal edge projecting over the tie plate bearing surface. The tie plate ridges each define under their respective lips an upstanding side wall, which side walls oppose each other and are spaced apart and of a height to closely receive the rail base side edges therebetween when the rail is applied to the tie plate. The tie plate ridge lips each define on their upwardly facing sides a cam surface arcing downwardly from the crest of same to the respective lip marginal edges, with the respective lip marginal edges being spaced apart for snap fitting of the rail base between same for effecting seating of the rail base against the tie plate bearing surface. The underside of the tie plate is serrated for biting engagement with the tie as well as providing for aereation of same under the plate. In alternate forms, a separate brace plate extends across the tie plate for engagement with the sides of the tie to eliminate the need for rail anchors.

    摘要: A railroad track fastener assembly consisting of a spring plate and a resilient seat for a railroad rail comprising a pad of resilient material positioned between the rail base and the base of a spring plate. The spring plate may be bolted to any type of cross tie or foundation of concrete, steel, or wood. The pad of resilient material is formed with a plurality of spaced vertical holes and is either bonded to the base of the spring plate and is freely positioned within the spring plate. The pad is retained within the spring plate by spring shoulder clips that are secured to the spring plate shoulders resiliently checking the upward motion of the rail under a heavy load. Guard rails and braces are provided for maintaining the wheels of rolling stock on the rails while rounding curves. Accordingly, the rail seat assembly of the subject invention is in effect a railroad track direct fixation spring plate fastener which is operative to achieve noise and vibration attenuation; resistance to rail wave action stress and tie twisting, and is also adaptable for variation in the gage of the rails.

    摘要: A rail fastening device for securement of a longitudinally extending rail means to support structure by spring clip means is disclosed. A rail alignment means, including wedge means, mounted in engagement with the spring clip means and formed to laterally displace the spring clip means, and accordingly the rail means, is provided to enable precise alignment of the rail means and the gauge between adjacent rails. The spring clip means is free for lateral movement, as is the rail, and the alignment means is used to support lateral loading forces as well as align the rail means. The wedge means is formed of electrically insulating material, as is a pad under the rail and sockets into which fasteners for the spring clips are mounted, to insulate the rail means electrically from the supporting structure. A rail fastening device for tracks with and without ballast is shown as well as specific spring clip configurations and a locking washer for the spring clips.

    摘要: A rail seat and support structure for mounting, cushioning, anchoring and insulating a rail. A flexible rail seat is provided with the rail seat being of resilient material and having surfaces assisting in forming a recess. The recess is open to the exterior of the rail seat on its upper surface and has an interior configuration corresponding to the base flange and the lower portion of the vertical portion of the rail so as to receive and engage those portions of the rail in insulating, cushioning and bearing relationship. The rail seat also has at least one interior chamber adjacent to each side of the rail and a bar in each of the chambers. A base plate having a horizontal portion and two spaced upright longitudinal side walls is present and the rail seat is positioned in the base between the side walls and is adapted to receive the rail in substantially parallel relationship with the side walls. A clamping plate is positioned on the upper surface of the rail seat on both sides of the rail and mounting means are present for fastening the assembled rail seat and support structure to a rail bed so as to maintain the rail seat and support structure in assembled arrangement, connected to the rail bed, and to retain the rail in mounted, cushioned and insulated position.

    摘要: The track of a rapid transit rail system is fastened to a supporting structure via the intermediary of a plurality of rail fasteners. Each rail fastener includes a track plate supported from a base plate via the intermediary of an elastomer layer bonded between the plates. A pattern of voids is provided in the elastomer to enhance the vibration damping effect of the elastomer layer. Increased lateral restraint for the track plate and rail is provided by means of a pair of tubular members upstanding from the base plate on opposite sides of the rail. High compressive strength inserts are provided between the lateral side edges of the track plate and the upstanding tubular members for taking the lateral forces on the track plate in compression on the insert members.
