    摘要: A fuel pump includes a case member, which defines a fuel passage and accommodating a pump portion for pumping fuel. A motor portion is provided in the case member, and including a commutator for rectifying electricity supplied to an armature. Positive and negative electrode terminals conduct electricity to the motor portion. An insulative terminal support member supports the positive and negative electrode terminals. Brushes are slidable on the commutator to conduct electricity from the positive and negative electrode terminals to the commutator. Brush springs apply resilient forces to bias the brushes against the commutator. The terminal support member has a load bearing portion abutting against the brush springs to receive reactive forces of the resilient forces.

    摘要: A fuel pump includes a pump portion for pumping fuel. The fuel pump further includes a magnet having magnetic poles circumferentially alternate with each other. The fuel pump further includes an armature on a radially inside of the magnet. The armature includes a rotor core provided with a coil formed of a wire. The armature is rotatable for driving the pump portion. A commutator, which is in a substantially disc shape, is provided to an axial end of the armature for rectifying electricity supplying to the coil. The rotor core has an axial end having an outer circumferential periphery defining a commutator-side collar portion extending toward the commutator. The coil is formed by winding the wire between an outer circumferential periphery of the commutator and the commutator-side collar portion.

    摘要: In a circumferential flow pump, a first groove sectional area (S1) of a feed passage at a pump cover side is set to be smaller than a second groove sectional area (S2) of a feed passage at a pump base side, whereby the diameter of an eddy flow occurring in the first groove sectional area (S1) is smaller than the diameter of an eddy flow occurring in the second groove sectional area (S2). Therefore, the fuel pressure of the feed passage at the pump cover side is set to be higher than that of the feed passage at the pump base side, and thus a vane wheel is formed to be pressed against the pump base side.

    摘要: A method for governing the speed of a fluid turbine by establishing a circulating flow and a rotational flow with a rotor, and interrupting the rotational flow with an opposing stator. A related braking apparatus includes a housing, a rotatable shaft, a rotor configured to rotatingly engage the shaft and engage a fluid in the housing with a plurality of radial vanes, and a non-rotating stator comprising a plurality of fluid pockets. The stator is disposed such that the radial vanes of the rotor and the fluid pockets of the stator are oriented in a facing relationship. When the shaft is rotated, the fluid in the housing experiences both a circulating flow and a rotational flow. Thus, the rotational flow is present proximate the radial vanes, but not in the fluid pockets, and the fluid imparts a braking torque on the rotating shaft via the rotor's radial vanes.

    摘要: Mass-produced fuel pumps having a stable pump efficiency comprising a circumferential groove 20 is formed within a pump body 15 and the groove 20 is divided into a first region having a constant cross-sectional area L, a second region having a cross sectional area that gradually becomes smaller toward the downstream side, and a third region having a constant cross-sectional area M. A suction hole 22 is formed within the pump body 15 and is inclined toward the rotational direction of the impeller. The suction hole 22 is communicated with the groove 20 in the first region. Even if the inclination angle of the suction hole 22 varies among mass-produced fuel pumps, the cross-sectional area L of the groove 20 is constant at the location where the suction hole 22 is communicated with the groove 20. Therefore, variations in the amount of fuel sucked into the fuel pump can be reduced. Accordingly, pump efficiency of the mass-produced fuel pumps can be stabilized.
