The information processing apparatus including a transmission unit configured to transmit a job that requests execution of image processing, a switching unit configured to automatically switch a transmission destination of the job to the image processing apparatus during a communication with the image processing apparatus, and a unit configured to revert the transmission destination of the job, after completion of the communication with the image processing apparatus, to a setting before the transmission destination of the job was switched by the switching unit.

An image processing system includes a first MFP (Multi-Function Peripheral), a second MFP, and an operation panel. The operation panel is attachable to and removable from each of the first and second MFPs. The first MFP accepts a job. The operation panel includes a storage unit for storing information held by the first MFP and a display unit for displaying information about the job accepted by the first MFP. The second MFP executes the job accepted by the first MFP based on the information stored in the storage unit of the operation panel when the operation panel is removed from the first MFP and attached to the second MFP.

Controllers on the master and slave sides each perform an ink cartridge checking process and transmit a detection result, for example “NG”, obtained though the ink cartridge checking process to the other controller. Furthermore, the same ink cartridge checking process is performed in the other controller and the detection result thereof, for example “OK” is transmitted to the first controller. A mechanical control unit merges (combines) the respective detection results and if at least one of the results is NG, a merged result of NG is obtained. In the case of NG, this fact is transmitted to a host control unit and if YES is selected in a Y/N display, the error is cleared. On the other hand, in the case of a merged result of OK, an ink cartridge OK state notification is issued to a mechanical controller.

Abstract:
A sensed image is saved in a printer in an environment in which a digital camera can directly communicate with a printer, and the sensed image can be directly printed. A printer and a digital camera (DSC) can be directly connected to each other via a USB interface. Upon this direct connection, the digital camera and printer serve as a print system, and the DSC serves as a user interface in that system. When the user inputs a print instruction of a desired image on the DSC, a print process of that image is executed. When the user inputs a save instruction of a given image, that image is saved in a storage device in the printer. Even when the image is erased on the DSC side, original image data can be prevented from being lost.
