Abstract:
In order to easily display data on a display device, an MFP connected to a plurality of television conference terminal devices each displaying data stores device information in an HDD for a respective one of the television conference terminal devices, to store a format in which the corresponding terminal device inputs data. The MFP includes a data acquiring portion to acquire data, an output destination accepting portion to accept an output destination of data, a conversion portion, when one of the television conference terminal devices is accepted as an output destination device which is the output destination of data, to convert a format of the acquired data to the format stored corresponding to the output destination device in the device information, and a communication control portion to output the data converted by the conversion portion to the output destination device.
Abstract:
With a digital camera 100, a photographed image 31 is displayed on a liquid crystal display and the user selects a desired image and specifies print specifications of the number of print sheets, a print paper size, a print color mode, etc., then print image data is prepared. The prepared print image data is transmitted from the digital camera 100 to a color printer of an output unit. An image is printed at the color printer in accordance with the print image data.
Abstract:
A digital multifunction device is provided with a RAM having a virtual drive area. A persona computer is connected to the digital multifunction device and is capable of communicating therewith via USB interface. The digital multifunction device enables a personal computer to recognize this virtual drive area as an external storage device, and the personal computer can access to the virtual drive area. Upon receipt of facsimile data, the digital multifunction device converts one page worth data to image data of PDF or TIFF format each time the one page worth data is received. After full page worth data have been received and the converted PDT or TIFF image data are put together in a single data file, the data file is written to the virtual drive area.
Abstract:
A fax to E-mail system and related method are shown, whereby a hardcopy document is sent via a fax device to its recipient via electronic mail through a data network (such as the Internet), and is delivered in such a manner that it can be retrieved by the recipient at an E-mail device, in the ordinary course of retrieving the E-mail, and displayed on the screen of the E-mail device. The invention provides for and accomplishes the delivery of a document, which begins as a hardcopy, as an electronic file retrieved through E-mail recipient's terminal and displayed on the computer screen of the E-mail recipient's terminal. The system and method also provides for an interface device which connects to a conventional fax device for communicating E-mail addresses and routing hardcopy documents to the E-mail network. The invention provides a means for embedding the functions of the interface device into conventional fax devices. The system can also be used in cooperation with Internet Web service for reporting, accounting, information services, and user interaction.
Abstract:
An image processing apparatus includes plural output processing units one for each of different image output units and an input processing unit that processes image data input from an image input unit to output an image in an image format compatible with one of the image output units.
Abstract:
An image forming apparatus which includes a viewer program so as to directly print printing data stored in an external digital storage medium without using a host computer and a method of controlling the same. The image forming apparatus includes a connection interface unit to receive printing data from an external digital storage medium, a storage unit to store a viewer program to view the contents of the printing data, and a control unit to control the received printing data to be displayed on a predetermined screen display unit via the viewer program and to control the displayed printing data to be printed.
Abstract:
In a system in which an image input apparatus and image forming apparatus are directly connected, the operation of the image input apparatus may stop during the operation of the image forming apparatus. The performance between the apparatuses is unbalanced, and the total throughput is low. According to this invention, in a system in which a plurality of apparatuses are connected via a serial bus, an apparatus having the node ID=0 upon bus reset in connection calculates a time required for each process in each apparatus for a plurality of processes forming a series of image processes. For a plurality of patterns (process roots) for distribution of image processing between the apparatuses, the processing time is calculated for each pattern. A series of image processes are executed based on a distribution pattern exhibiting the shortest time. In the image input apparatus, the format of image data to be transferred is switched in accordance with the empty state of a buffer in the image output apparatus. This enables efficient image forming processing in the system to increase the total throughput.
Abstract:
A facsimile transmission system transmitting an image from a sending device to a receiving device via a network, includes:a status information reply unit which replies to a notification request of status information from the sending device by transmitting the status information representing status of the receiving-device to the sending device via the network,in which the status information reply unit includes:a transmission source classifying portion which determines a class of the sending device by classifying sending devices into a plurality of classes on the basis of a message transmitted by the sending devices via the network upon the notification request, anda selected-status information transmitting portion which transmits the status information to the sending device via the network, the status information being selected according to the class of the sending-side device, which is classified by the transmission source classifying portion among a plurality of status information representing the status of the receiving device.

Abstract:
A mail retrieval moderator instructs an image memory usage rate calculator to calculate a usage rate of an image memory, and determines whether the usage rage is greater than or equal to 98%. When the answer is “Yes”, there is a risk that the image memory will have a memory overflow if more e-mail is retrieved from the POP3 server. Thus, a timer is reset and the control returns to ST501. When the answer is “No”, there is no risk that the image memory will have a memory overflow even if more e-mail is retrieved from the POP3 server. Thus, e-mail is retrieved from the POP3 server. Accordingly, the apparatus and method for receiving e-mail is capable of securely retrieving e-mail from the mail server, even with a relatively small memory capacity.
