    Abstract: a blast nozzle is provided that has a conduit through it for accelerating air applied to the blast nozzle at pressure greater than ambient pressure. The air contains abrasive particles for abrading or “blasting” a workpiece. The conduit includes an inlet portion that converges from an inlet opening for receiving the air, to a throat for accelerating the air to a sonic speed. The conduit also includes an outlet portion that extends from the throat to a nozzle outlet for accelerating the air from the throat to a super-sonic speed at the nozzle outlet. A ratio of area of the nozzle outlet to area of the throat is selected for expansion of the air through the conduit so that air is emitted from the nozzle outlet in a jet at an ambient pressure. The jet imparts drag on the abrasive particles between the nozzle outlet and the workpiece which has been found to improve abrading of the workpiece by the abrasive particles.

    Abstract: A pulverized solid fuel nozzle tip assembly for use with a pulverized solid fuel pipe nozzle to issue a stream of pulverized solid fuel and air to a pulverized solid fuel-fired boiler is described. The pulverized solid fuel nozzle tip assembly has an outer nozzle tip portion adapted to mount in supported relation with the pulverized solid fuel pipe nozzle, and a monolithic, ceramic, inner nozzle tip portion adapted for mounting within the outer nozzle tip portion to have secure tiltable movement. The outer nozzle has supporting surfaces that support surfaces of the inner nozzle tip portion to minimize the tilting forces transmitted to the inner nozzle tip portion during normal furnace operation, enhancing the wear resistance of the pulverized solid fuel nozzle tip assembly. The outer nozzle has an air shroud with multiple air passages to direct secondary air over an outer surface of the inner nozzle tip portion.

    Abstract: A common head for use in combination with a cartridge assembly, the cartridge assembly being retained within the material containment unit of a dispensing device and arranged to discharge reactive components from larger and smaller cartridges in response to actuation of the dispensing device. The common head includes inlet openings and a rigid walled tube having a partition positioned therein to define larger and smaller pathways to enable passage of the reactive components from the cartridges into and though the common head in a predetermined volumetric ratio and prevent backflow of the components which can lead to unintended curing prior to dispensing. A flexible liner arranged for positioning within one or both pathways of the rigid walled tube is also provided to prevent such backflow and unintended curing prior to dispensing.

    Abstract: An aerosol generating apparatus is disclosed. The apparatus includes a liquid container, an adaptor detachably engaged with the liquid container, and a driving element accommodated by the adaptor. A perforated membrane, through which a liquid can pass through, is disposed at an exit of the liquid container. Moreover, the perforated membrane faces the driving element. The driving element includes a substrate coupled with a piezoelectric element. The substrate includes an aperture that corresponds to the perforated membrane when the liquid container and the adaptor are engaged so as to receive liquid. Moreover, when the liquid container and the adaptor are engaged, the perforated membrane is in contact with the substrate at the proximity of the aperture, which is about the substrate's center. The adaptor is configured to contact the substrate's periphery only. The resulting apparatus generates aerosol at a desired efficiency with less energy needed.

    Abstract: A spray head body extension that is screwed onto the upper end of a spray head body after the cap is removed. The cap is then reinstalled on the extension to raise the effective height of the a spray head body and its spray pattern. The spray head body extension permits fast, easy raising of a sunken in-ground spray head without having to dig below the spray head's water supply. A one-piece embodiment uses a compressible gasket to enable the extension to be tightened to the body until the internal guide splines of both the extension and body are aligned. A set screw can be employed to preserve alignment when the cap is reinstalled. An alignment tool helps align the splines of the extension to the body during installation. A multi-piece embodiment enables the extension to be aligned to the body before a separate collar nut is tightened.

    Abstract: A pig system for transporting liquid or pasty substances two pig stations which are connected to one another by way of a pig line. The pig system includes a number of pigs. Accordingly, the two pig stations have a number of parking positions, to which a controllable media connection is respectively assigned.     Abstract: A spray nozzle assembly is provided with an electrode, a wear resistant member, and a compliant sleeve. The wear resistant member supports the electrode and is supported by the compliant sleeve. For coating operations that use abrasive powder such as porcelain enamel, the wear resistant member may comprise ceramic. The compliant sleeve may be made of an elastic material such as plastic, which allows one end of the compliant sleeve to receive an end of a glass powder tube. The wear resistant member may be in the form of a ceramic spider. The electrode may be installed in-line with a powder flow path defined by the powder tube, which extends through a spray gun body.
