Abstract: A mirror reflective element sub-assembly for use in an exterior rearview mirror assembly of a vehicle includes a mirror reflective element, a mirror reflector and a mirror back plate disposed at the rear side of the mirror reflective element. A heater pad is disposed between the mirror reflective element and the mirror back plate and has a light transmitting portion that is aligned with an aperture of the mirror back plate. A blind spot indicator module includes a body portion and a connector portion extending laterally from the body portion. Light emitted by at least one light emitting diode passes through the light transmitting portion of the heater pad and through a light-transmitting portion of the mirror reflector and exits the mirror reflective element to provide a visual icon visible to a driver of the vehicle who is driving the vehicle and who is viewing said mirror reflective element.

Abstract: A vehicular exterior rearview mirror assembly includes a mirror head and a mounting base, with the mirror head having a mirror casing and a reflective element, and with the mounting base configured for attachment at a vehicle. A camera module is disposed at the mirror head and includes a camera having a field of view and operable to capture image data. The camera module is extendable and retractable relative to the mirror casing. With the camera module retracted, the camera module is oriented such that the field of view of the camera encompasses a blind spot region at least at the body side of the vehicle. With the camera module retracted, an inboard limit of the field of view of the camera partially overlaps an outboard limit of a field of view provided to a driver of the vehicle by the reflective element.

Abstract: An adjustable vehicle mirror assembly uses a revolution sensor for detecting revolutions of an element in a mirror rotation drive chain. A control circuit uses the revolution sensor control rotation of the mirror to a preset orientation by counting revolutions and controlling a motor power supply and its direction dependent on whether the count indicates that the count of revolutions has reached a preset value. At power down, power up or when a new preset value is defined the control circuit switches to an overrule state in order to calibrate an offset. The control circuit continues operating in the overrule state until a rotation coupling in the mirror assembly reaches a disengaged state or stalls.

Abstract: An exterior rearview mirror assembly for a vehicle includes a mirror head and a mounting base, with a camera module disposed at the mirror head. The camera module includes a camera having a field of view exterior of the vehicle when the mirror assembly is attached at the vehicle. The camera module is extendable and retractable relative to a mirror casing of the mirror head. With the camera module retracted and with the mirror assembly attached at the vehicle, the camera module is oriented such that its field of view encompasses a blind spot region at least at the body side of the vehicle. With the camera module extended and with the mirror assembly attached at the vehicle, the camera module may be oriented such that its field of view encompasses a region at least along a body side of a trailer being towed by the vehicle.

Abstract: Wing mirror unit, drive construction, and rotation sensor The invention relates to a wing mirror unit (1) for a motor vehicle. The unit comprises a mirror housing support (3) for attachment to a body (4) of the motor vehicle (2). The wing mirror unit further comprises a mirror housing (5) supported by the mirror housing support and pivotably arranged with respect to said support around a rotation axis (6) extending substantially in an upward direction. Furthermore, the unit comprises a drive, preferably an electric drive, for pivoting the mirror housing between a folded-out position of the mirror housing, in which the mirror housing extends substantially in a direction (7) away from the body of the motor vehicle, and a folded-in position of the mirror housing, in which the mirror housing projects less far and extends in a substantially rearward direction more alongside the body of the motor vehicle, and/or for pivoting the mirror housing between the folded-in position and the folded-out position. The wing mirror unit also comprises a rotation sensor (8), preferably a potentiometer, having a sensor axis (9). Said unit is arranged for rotating the sensor axis during a limited part of the pivoting route between the folded-out position and the folded-in position and/or during a limited part of the pivoting route between the folded-in position and the folded-out position.

Abstract: This invention relates to a view angle adjustment mechanism. A view element tilting section is tiltably supported by a tilting support section via an inner pivot and an outer pivot. The view element tilting section includes a view element holder holding a view element. The inner pivot and the outer pivot are formed between the tilting support section and the view element holder. The outer pivot has a structure in which an outer-pivot convex surface formed at the view element holder and an outer-pivot concave surface formed at the tilting support section are slidably fitted together. The outer-pivot convex surface is formed in an outer circumferential surface of an outer-pivot convex surface-forming annular wall formed at a back surface of the view element holder in an integrated manner.

Abstract: The invention relates to an actuator mechanism for adjusting at least one angular position of a mirror element in an exterior mirror device for a motor vehicle. The actuator mechanism comprises a base element and a mirror element movably coupled with the base element, which comprises a mirror support for supporting a mirror surface. The mirror element is rotatable relative to the base element about at least a first pivoting axis with the aid of a first electric motor provided in the actuator mechanism, which extends in a longitudinal direction that is substantially transverse to a supporting surface of the mirror support. What can be elegantly facilitated by this, for instance also in the case of a relatively small mirror surface that is only a few centimeters wide and/or is only a few centimeters long, is that, as seen from a direction in which during use the mirror surface is being viewed by a driver, such electric motor does not protrude, or hardly protrudes, next to, above and/or below the mirror surface.

Abstract: In a vehicle door mirror device, a first cord and a second cord are arranged passing through a storing mechanism in an up-down direction. A first connector of the first cord is electrically connected to a mirror face adjustment device through an assembly hole of a visor body. Moreover, a second connector of the second cord is electrically connected to a turn signal lamp. The first cord and the second cord are disposed at a vehicle rear side of the storing mechanism, and pass between the storing mechanism and the visor body. This thereby enables the first cord and the second cord to be made shorter.
