    摘要: Amphibious vehicle has at least one system which is actuated or has its mode of operation changed when the vehicle changes from land mode to water mode or vice versa. The vehicle comprises sensor means which produce an output signal which varies in relation to the proportion of the mass of the vehicle which is buoyantly supported by a body of water. The sensors may sense the position of a wheel relative to the body of the vehicle. This may be achieved by checking the position of a suspension member. The sensor means may comprise a linear sensor or a rotary sensor. The sensor may comprise a potentiometer. Control means may average the output of the sensor over time. Where several sensors are used, control means may process output signals from each sensor to provide an overall output signal. A water presence sensor, such as a thermistor, may be used to provide a second control signal.

    摘要: A rotor system includes a hydraulic pressure system located within a rotor shaft along an axis or rotation. The hydraulic pressure system is within the rotating field such that fluid pressure is generated and supplied from within the rotational field without the need to cross a rotational interface. Differential rotation between the rotor shaft and a standpipe rotates a hydraulic pump body relative a hydraulic pump shaft. The hydraulic pressure system is contained within a support structure so as to be readily mounted and removed from the rotor hub for replacement or maintenance. A gear system is mounted to the support structure between the standpipe and the hydraulic pump shaft to step-up or step-down the relative rotation between the rotor shaft and the standpipe.

    摘要: A heat-generating device is characterized to determine the relationship between the speed of a DC cooling fan, and the thermal margin of the heat-generating device. Since the speed of DC fans is substantially linear with respect to their input voltage, the speed of the fan may be adjusted within a system to provide the speed necessary for cooling needs. An altitude is input to a converter which uses the characterization of the heat-generating device to determine a fan speed necessary at that altitude to cool the heat-generating device to a temperature within its operating range. The converter then controls the voltage supplied to the DC fan to result in the needed fan speed.

    摘要: A steam-cooled type gas turbine has flange contact surfaces between adjacent rotor disks in which buffering sheets such as gaskets and the like can not be inserted. Further, the contact surfaces have a large diameter, making it difficult or impossible to ensure sufficient surface contact pressure for sealing. Yet preventing the leakage of coolant steam from these flange contact surfaces presents a very important problem. The present invention provides a seal structure for flange contact surfaces of a gas turbine which can enhance the sealability at these portions. The seal structure for flange contact surfaces includes a plurality of labyrinth-like grooves (8) which are formed in at least one of the flange contact surfaces (7). The seal structure of the present invention provides a gas turbine with high reliability and enhanced sealability. Further, a high surface contact pressure is obtained by reducing the area of the flange contact surfaces.

    摘要: There is disclosed an elongate style portable fan device having an elongate body portion including a fan device mounted on the top end of the body portion. The elongate body portion is designed to lay flat on an underlying flat surface in a manner which maintains the fan device portion at an angle of approximately 30 degrees from the central horizontal axis of the elongate body portion such that the fan blades of the fan device are free to rotate above the underlying flat surface when in the fan activated mode. The elongate body portion includes stop means for providing a resting stop position for the elongate body portion in order to permit the fan blades of the fan device to rotate freely when in the resting position and in the fan activation mode while laying on a flat underlying surface. Switch means is provided to the device for alternating between a fan activation and a fan deactivation mode. A scented pad may be added to the device and positioned so that rotating fan blades will disseminate the scent emanating from the scent pad. A further embodiment contemplates that the fan blades may be impregnated with water soluble granules of a scented material such that in use, as the fan blades rotate and misting water traverses the path of the fan blades, the scented granules will disintegrate and scent the mist thereby producing a scent emanating from the fan device.
