    摘要： A display carrier for glassware or the like is foldable from a generally flat, collapsed condition for shipping and storage to an erect position for retaining at least a pair of articles. The carrier is formed of a flexible material which forms a top wall, a bottom wall and a pair of side walls, each side wall being hinged to each of the top and bottom walls to form a carrier sleeve. A reinforcing wall extends between the top and bottom walls. Planar retaining tabs are resiliently connected along a fold line of the top and bottom walls, and each tab is contoured so that it can flex to match the volume swept out by a glass or other article as it is being inserted into the carrier. Bights in the reinforcing wall limit movement of the retaining tabs. When the carrier is folded flat, the reinforcing wall holds the tabs flat against the top and bottom walls to which they are hinged. The carrier may also include a lift tab which lifts the retaining tabs from the flat position against the top and bottom walls to a position in which they bear against a respective bight. The method of making the carrier from a blank is also disclosed.

    摘要： A carton is disclosed for containing and displaying cylindrical objects such as drinking glasses or canned goods, and a single foldable paperboard blank form is disclosed for making the carton. The carton is in the form of an open ended sleeve having a divider panel providing adjacent sections for receiving the cylindrical objects, and folding tab members interengaged with the divider panel to retain the objects within the open ends while providing maximum visible exposure of the objects at the carton sides and ends. Tabs in the top and bottom panels of the carton provide finger holes for carrying the carton and extend into the carton transverse to the divider panel and between adjacent objects in the direction between the open ends of the sleeve.

    摘要： A display carrier for articles includes hingedly connected top, bottom and side walls forming a sleeve and a deflectable retainer for releasably engaging an article in the carrier. The deflectable retainer hingedly extends from an edge of the bottom wall and has a fold line defining a distal flap attached to the inside of the bottom wall of the carrier between the center line of the bottom wall and the fold line from which the retainer extends. Two intermediate fold lines give the retainer a quadrilateral cross section and permit the retainer to be deflected toward the bottom wall for engaging or disengaging an article end with the carrier. Articles can be inserted and withdrawn from the carrier by deflecting the retainer without damage to the carrier. A second retainer for articles having an open or chimed end extends from an edge of the top wall of the carrier. The second retainer includes a retaining portion having a curved edge for engaging the inside surface of an article having a chimed or open end. The second retainer includes an attaching portion, separated from the retaining portion by a lateral cut, that includes fold lines defining an adhering flap. The adhering flap is attached to the inside of the top surface to hold the single ply retaining portion in an operative position for securing an end of an article inserted into the carrier. The invention also includes blanks from which the novel carriers may be assembled.
