摘要： A dual color coding system is disclosed for sewing machine needles in which the color appearing on one area of the needle denotes the needle type, whereas that appearing on another area denotes the needle size. A dye which leaves no discernable surface coating is applied to the needle shank to denote one of the characteristics, preferably needle type; whereas a narrow band of pigmented material is applied as a surface coating over the dye colored surface at the juncture of the needle shank and blade to denote another characteristic, preferably needle size.

摘要： The steps in the manufacture of a sewing machine needle are disclosed in which the needle blade is shaped by first being subjected to a flow-pressing operation to form a groove with raised side flanges and thereafter the eye portion is subjected to a die pressing operation which can further raise the side flanges. The needle is then completed by eye punching, pointing, and fin removal.

摘要： A sewing machine needle includes a blade extending substantially in the needle's longitudinal direction, an eye, which passes through the needle substantially in its elevational direction, and a scarf, which extends along the needle behind the eye. Compared with the contour of the blade, the scarf contour is recessed in the needle's elevational direction. At least in part of the scarf s extension along the needle, the scarf contour in a sectional plane perpendicular to the needle's longitudinal direction is substantially an arc of a circle. The circular-arc-shaped area covers a first angular portion of the needle's circumference. In this part of the scarfs extension along the needle, the radius of the substantially circular-arc-shaped contour in this first angular portion of the needle's circumference is between 35% and 100% of the needle's maximum lateral reach. The needle's lateral direction is perpendicular to its longitudinal and elevational directions.

摘要： A hand-held stitching tool for forming decorative patterns of yarn on mesh materials has a stitching needle with a blunt end and an elongated handle having a top surface and a bottom surface and sized for holding between the thumb and the index finger with the index finger resting along the top surface of the handle. Preferably, the handle is wide enough to allow the third finger to be supported by the handle, allowing the user to clamp the yarn with the third finger. The stitching needle has a distal end region with an eye passage bounded by flattened surfaces that are parallel to the top and bottom surfaces of the handle. A guide passage can be provided on the handle to carry the yarn along the handle. The tool is well suited for practicing the described methods for forming decorative loops and chain stitches on a mesh material.

摘要： A surgical needle for sutural treatment having a triangle or polygon body in cross section, including a blunt needle point with a plate or round end and at least two cutting edges to prevent a health care provider from mistakenly hurting themselves even if the needle comes into contact with the tissue of the health care provide, and to provide a property that enables the needle to pass smoothly through tissues. A first face of the body may be ground by a grinding apparatus specially made for the surgical needle to form a tapered slope and the cutting edges. By pressing a material piece of the needle in a V-shaped groove it forms a second and third face and readily produces a high quality surgical needle.
