Abstract: Automatic testing for control valves is provided for diagnosing of actuators, including actuators not equipped with analog or discrete position transmitters. A valve controller confirms steady-state conditions for a turbo-compressor system that includes a control valve in a first position and sends, to an actuator for the control valve, a signal to initiate a partial valve stroke to move the control valve away from the first position. The valve controller receives feedback signals from sensors in the turbo-compressor system and monitors the feedback signals for a change from the steady-state conditions. When the monitoring detects a change from the steady-state conditions within a defined time period, the valve controller sends, to the actuator, a signal to return the control valve to the first position. When the monitoring does not detect a change from the steady-state conditions within the defined time period, the valve controller generates an alarm signal.

Abstract: A method of detecting electrical failure in a refrigeration system is provided. The method includes determining whether a present superheat of the refrigeration system is between a maximum superheat and a minimum superheat for the refrigeration system, the maximum superheat and the minimum superheat defining a normal operating range. The method also includes detecting an electrical property of an expansion valve assembly of the refrigeration system responsive to the superheat being outside the normal operating range. The method further includes determining whether the expansion valve assembly as experienced an electrical failure based on at least the electrical property. A signal indicating that the expansion valve has experienced an electrical failure is generated based on a determination that the expansion valve assembly has experienced the electrical failure.

Abstract: A detection apparatus and a server are provided, where the apparatus is configured to detect whether a coolant heat pipe or a solenoid valve on the coolant heat pipe in a device is abnormal, and the apparatus includes a control chip. The control chip can control a working state of the solenoid valve. The control chip can further obtain a temperature of a component in the device. When it is detected whether the coolant heat pipe or the solenoid valve is abnormal, the control chip may obtain a temperature difference of the component in the device when the working state of the solenoid valve is controlled, and relatively conveniently determine whether the coolant heat pipe or the solenoid valve is abnormal based on the temperature difference.

Abstract: Regulator assemblies can be tested using test fluids selected to have a molecular weight about that of a selected fluid to be dispensed from a fluid storage and delivery vessel including the regulator assembly. The test fluid can be a single gas or a mixture. The test fluid can have a molecular weight of between 80% and 110% of the molecular weight of the selected fluid dispensed from the fluid storage and delivery vessel. Regulator assemblies tested in this manner can pass evaluation when they show fewer than two spikes on the initiation of flow of the test gas. These regulator assemblies can be installed into fluid storage and delivery vessels, particularly for storage and delivery of pressurized fluids.

Abstract: A rig management system is disclosed. The rig management system may gather, from a set of sensors, data that includes: vibration data related to vibration of a valve associated with a pump of a hydraulic fracturing rig during operation of the pump, and pump speed data related to a speed of the pump during operation of the pump. The rig management system may process the data to identify a trend related to the vibration data, wherein the vibration data has been normalized based on the pump speed data. The rig management system may determine a remaining useful life of the valve based on the trend and threshold data that identifies a set of thresholds related to the vibration of the valve. The rig management system may determine that the remaining useful life satisfies a threshold. The rig management system may schedule an operation to be performed on the valve.

Abstract: A method is proposed for establishing termination criteria for a partial stroke test on a safety valve, including: a) A partial stroke test is carried out when the safety valve is operational. b) Position of the valve member and pressure in the drive fluid are recorded. c) A first relation is derived, which relates position of the valve member, time, pressure of the drive fluid, and/or control deviation to one another. d) This relation is defined as a safety valve reference curve. e) A second relation is defined, which has a predetermined distance from the reference curve. f) Termination criterion include: If the partial stroke test is repeated on the same valve, the same data are recorded and a third relation is derived for the reference curve, the partial stroke test is not passed if the third relation has a greater distance to the reference curve than the second relation.
