Abstract:
According to one embodiment, a structure evaluation system includes an impact imparting unit, a sensor, and a structure evaluation device. The impact imparting unit applies impacts to a structure. The impact imparting unit applies the impacts at a frequency equal to or less than a frequency determined in accordance with an intensity at which the impacts are imparted. The sensor detects elastic waves. The structure evaluation device evaluates a deterioration state of the structure on the basis of the detected elastic waves.
Abstract:
An impact test system includes a head model having a head exterior component; a skull component; a brain component; a fluid component; an interior cavity surface; and a translucent cover, wherein the head model is coupled with a mount, the brain component and fluid components are configured within the interior cavity, and wherein the translucent cover is configured over a portion of the brain component and fluid component. A mount is configured to a least partially restrain the head model. A camera is configured to take a plurality of images of the brain and the fluid components through the translucent cover when the head model is under an impact force.
Abstract:
The present invention relates generally to a system and method for measuring the structural characteristics of an object. The object is subjected to an energy application processes and provides an objective, quantitative measurement of structural characteristics of an object. The system may include a device, for example, a percussion instrument, capable of being reproducibly placed against the object undergoing such measurement for reproducible positioning. The structural characteristics as defined herein may include vibration damping capacities, acoustic damping capacities, structural integrity or structural stability.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a test pendulum arrangement for carrying out a crash test dummy certifications, having a test probe which is arranged suspended on a cable arrangement, wherein test conditions are standardized and a cable standard length (lN) is provided, the cable arrangement having a suspension, wherein a first drive for accelerating the test probe and at least a second drive for displacing the suspension are provided. The invention also relates to a method for operating a corresponding test pendulum arrangement.
Abstract:
A testing apparatus to assess ballistic performance of helmet personnel protective equipment having a flat helmet analogue with a helmet shell material in flat panel form and at least one helmet suspension pad; head surrogate components including a skull skin surrogate, a skull bone surrogate, and a brain tissue surrogate; a pressure indicating film adjacent to the head surrogate components; and one or more pressure sensors in the brain tissue surrogate. Also disclosed is the related method for assessing ballistic performance of helmet personnel protective equipment.
Abstract:
The invention provides a one-piece test apparatus for steel furrings and accessories for building. The apparatus comprises support legs, a rectangular frame on the support legs, and a first hoisting motor, a load-carrying hoisting motor, a second and a third hoisting motor sequentially arranged above the rectangular frame. One side-edge beam is provided on the rectangular frame. Locking holes are opened on the first short edge and the side-edge beam respectively. The side-edge beam is connected with a long edge of the rectangular frame through a adjustment fixing hole. At least two parallel bearing crossbeams are arranged on the rectangular frame. A hanging plate is provided on a side surface of the bearing crossbeam, and an erection hole is formed in the middle of the hanging plate. The apparatus of the invention is simple in structure and convenient to operate, and has relatively accurate detection data.
Abstract:
A collision sensor, including a hollow housing having an accommodation space; a collision information generator arranged in the space and adapted to produce an output indicating a directional and/or positioning information of the collision when being triggered during the collision; a collision detecting member arranged over and adapted to trigger the collision information generator upon being driven by the obstacle during the collision; wherein the collision detecting member and the collision information generator are spaced apart from or in contact with each other by one or more resilient members, by which the collision detecting member is switchable between a normal position at which the collision detecting member is spaced apart from the collision information generator, and a working position at which at least a portion of the collision detecting member trigger the collision information generator by a compressive/collision force from the obstacle during the collision.
Abstract:
A shock-resistance testing apparatus includes a support base, a first rotating component and a controller provided on the support base. A second rotating component is coupled to one side of the first rotating component. A testing board is placed on the first rotating component. A falling board is placed on the testing board. The controller controls the first rotating component to drive the second rotating component rotating from one side of the testing board to another side of the testing board. The controller controls the second rotating component to lift the testing board. The controller controls the second rotating component to move away from the testing board so that the testing board falls.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method for measuring the impact performance of a target material comprising a hollow structure comprising an outlet end located above a target. The hollow structure is dimensioned to allow free movement of a drop test object through the outlet end. A trigger is located proximate to the outlet end and a retaining member is located proximate to the outlet end and coupled to hollow structure. The retaining member is configured to retain the drop test object in the hollow structure upon activation of the trigger.
Abstract:
A modular system is designed to interface cell cultures to a shock tube (simulated blast) and/or drop tower (simulated blunt impact) for testing of helmet and helmet pad materials for mitigating cell injury. It includes a set of layers including helmet material, optionally helmet pad, simulated skin, simulated skull, and simulated bulk brain tissue.
