摘要:
An apparatus for adjusting the partial pressure of gaseous mixtures comprises a housing and piston. The housing defines a chamber coupled to an oxygen metering orifice, diluent metering orifice, vent port and gas outlet. The oxygen metering orifice provides oxygen to the chamber and the diluent metering orifice provides diluent gas to the chamber. The piston is movably positioned in the chamber and includes first and second sealing devices. The chamber is sectioned into a mixing chamber, a diluent chamber and a reference chamber located between the mixing chamber and diluent chamber. The diluent chamber receives a diluent gas referenced at ambient pressure and the reference chamber is charged with a gas having a reference pressure. The piston changes positions within the chamber depending on a force balance created by a pressure differential between the reference pressure and ambient pressure.

A pressure balance unit for a valve assembly includes a first shell having a tongue extending therefrom, a second shell having a groove indented therein, and a sliding element having a shaft defining an axis. The groove in the second shell is configured to receive the tongue from the first shell for aligning the shells. The first and second shells are united using a sonic welding process. The first shell defines a first bore and the second shell defines a second bore. The first and second bores include inlet ports in circumferential faces thereof, the ports defining openings transverse to the axis. The sliding element includes a first end movable along the axis within the first bore and a second end movable along the axis within the second bore. The ends of the sliding element open and close the inlet ports by sliding across the ports.

Described herein are methods, systems, and articles that are useful for controlling a fluid blending system, such as a fluid utility system. The methods, systems, and articles of this invention allow for the control of both a quantity metric (e.g., pressure) of the blended fluid the fluid blending system as well as at least one quality metric of a blended fluid in a fluid blending system. For example, the methods, systems, and articles of this invention provide for the simultaneous control of both the pressure and quality of fuel gas within a fuel gas header system.
