    摘要: An apparatus having a thin metal frame has an opening and a protective rail on each end. Four guide posts extend from the lower surface of the frame to a plate which is spring-biased away from the frame. The plate has pin holes which are arrayed for a particular electrical component having contact pins. The component is loaded into the apparatus by extending the pins through the opening and into the pin holes in the plate. The rails may be flexed outward to accommodate the component before snapping onto and around the ends of the component to fix it from movement relative to the apparatus. The guide posts extend beyond the tips of the pins to provide stand-off protection. The tips of the guide posts are placed in a socket and the assembly is pressed into the socket until the pins seat in it. As the pins are inserted into the socket, the plate is pressed toward the frame to collapse the springs. The apparatus is left permanently installed with the component in the socket.

Coding slides having a pin are provided on the support unit for each plug receptacle so that only those modules having a recess for the pin corresponding to a particular position of the coding slide can be inserted into the particular plug receptacle. This prevents, for example, modules with 24 V direct current supply from being inserted into plug receptacles wired for 230 V alternating current and vice versa.

    摘要: An electronic device includes a housing that has a side wall formed with an access opening therethrough. The opening has a length in a first direction, and a width in a second direction transverse to the first direction. A barrier is secured to the housing parallel to the side wall, and is spaced apart from the opening in a third direction transverse to the first and second directions so as to form a connector mounting space between the barrier and the side wall. An electrical connector unit includes a terminal holding seat having a front portion that projects outwardly of the housing through the opening, and a rear portion disposed in the connector mounting space. The front portion of the terminal holding seat has a cross-section smaller than size of the opening such that the terminal holding seat is movable relative to the housing. A contact terminal set is mounted in the terminal holding seat, and has a cable connecting portion that extends in the third direction through the rear portion of the terminal holding seat. A ribbon cable has a terminal mounting plate mounted on one end thereof. The cable connecting portion of the contact terminal set is mounted on the terminal mounting plate and is in electrical contact with the ribbon cable. The terminal mounting plate has an abutment face in sliding contact with the barrier.

The guiding frame comprises a pair of guiding beams and a pair of transverse plates interconnecting the guiding beams to define a mating port thereamong. The electrical connector comprises an insulative mating tongue having a mating face and a plurality of passageways defined in the mating face, and a plurality of contacts each comprising a resilient arm received in corresponding passageway and having a contact portion extending beyond the mating face of the mating tongue. The module comprises a daughter card having a mating edge with a plurality of conductive pads on one side thereof. The daughter card and the electrical connector are inserted into the guiding frame with the mating tongue and the mating edge stackedly received in the mating port. The contact portions of the contacts electrically abut against corresponding conductive pads of the daughter card.

The connector includes an insulative housing (11), and a plurality of conductive terminals (18) received in the housing. A reinforcing plate (16) interconnects the guiding arms to prevent the guiding arms from bending inwardly when the connector becomes heated during use. A middle portion (162) of the reinforcing plate is offset outwardly from the housing. When the connector becomes heated during use, the reinforcing plate bends inwardly. However, space beneath the reinforcing plate is still sufficient to ensure that the reinforcing plate does not contact the received electrical card, and that the electrical card can be freely inserted into or removed from the connector.
