摘要: Described are programmable IO devices configured to perform operations. These operations comprise: determining a set of range-based elements for a network; sorting the set of range-based elements according to a global order among the range-based elements; generating an interval table from the sorted range-based elements; generating an interval binary search tree from the interval table; propagating data stored in subtrees of interior stages of the interval binary search tree to subtrees of a last stage of the interval binary search tree such that the interior stages do not comprise data; converting the interval binary search tree to a Pensando Tree; compressing multiple levels of the Pensando Tree into cache-lines; and assembling the cache-lines in the memory unit such that each stage can compute an address of a next-cache line to be fetched by a next stage.

摘要: A system for bandwidth estimation includes an interface and a processor. The interface communicates with a fat-tree (FT) network including multiple switches including (i) leaf switches belonging to a bottom level, (ii) spine switches belonging to a top level and (iii) intermediate switches belonging to one or more intermediate levels. Links connect between selected ones of the switches. The processor is to calculate, for a given level of the FT network that is divided into multiple groups of switches, oversubscription ratios for the respective groups, an oversubscription ratio of a group being indicative of a ratio between (i) a first available bandwidth on the links connecting the switches in the group to a lower level, and (ii) a second available bandwidth on the links connecting the switches in the group to a higher level, and to report a figure of merit of the FT network based on the oversubscription ratios.

摘要: Embodiments include apparatuses, methods, and systems of routing network containing a set of sources, a primary destination, a set of secondary destinations, and one or more routing elements. A routing element includes an input port, a set of output ports including a primary output port and a set of secondary output ports, and a control unit. The control unit is arranged to select a secondary output port to deliver a received message when the intended destination of the message is a secondary destination and the secondary output port is in a functional state. Otherwise, the control unit is arranged to select the primary output port to deliver the received message to the primary destination when the intended destination is the secondary destination and the secondary output port that reaches the secondary destination is in a nonfunctional state. Other embodiments may also be described and claimed.

摘要: Systems, methods, and devices for improved routing operations in a network computing environment. A system includes a network topology comprising a plurality of spine nodes and a plurality of leaf nodes, wherein a link between a first spine node and a first leaf node is inactive. The first spine node includes one or more processors configurable to execute instructions stored in non-transitory computer readable storage media. The instructions include receiving a packet to be transmitted to the first leaf node. The instructions include identifying an alternative spine node at a same level in the network topology. The instructions include attaching a tunnel label to the packet, wherein the tunnel label indicates the packet should be transmitted to the alternative spine node.

The system is such that at least one of the plurality of leaf nodes is associated with one or more networking prefixes. The spine node stores a prefix table. The prefix table includes a listing of networking prefixes in the network topology. The prefix table includes an indication of at least one equal-cost multipath routing (ECMP) group associated with each of the networking prefixes in the network topology. The prefix table includes an indication of at least one leaf node of the plurality of leaf nodes associated with each of the networking prefixes in the network topology.

摘要: Systems and methods for providing multicast group (MCG) membership relative to partition membership in a high performance computing environment. In allowing a subnet manager of a local subnet to be instructed that all ports that are members of the relevant partition should be set up as members for a specific multicast group, the SM can perform a more efficient multicast-routing process. It is also possible to limit the IB client interaction with subnet administration conventionally required to handle join and leave operations. Additionally, subnet manager overhead can be reduced by creating a spanning tree for the routing of multicast packets that includes each of the partition members added to the multicast group, instead of creating a spanning tree after each multicast group join request is received, as conventionally required.

摘要: A network element and method for programming a network element that includes detecting an update to a first route in a routing information base (RIB) is disclosed. The method includes locating a first route network prefix associated with the first route within a network prefix trie (NPT); determining that, prior to the update, a first parent network prefix and the first route network prefix were reachable using a pair of different next hops connected to the network element; and determining that, after the update, the first parent network prefix and the first route network prefix are reachable using a first common next hop connected to the network element. The method also includes removing an existing forwarding information base (FIB) entry in the FIB associated with the first route network prefix.

摘要: A network device obtains a data package associated with an ISSU procedure and determines, based on the data package, that a control plane of the network device is to be rebooted to facilitate performance of the ISSU procedure. The network device causes, based on determining that the control plane is to be rebooted, a plurality of applications of the network device to stop executing on the network device and a control plane state of the network device to be frozen. The network device then causes the ISSU procedure to be performed. The network causes, based on causing the ISSU procedure to be performed, the control plane state of the network device to be restored and the plurality of applications to resume executing on the network device.
