摘要： A slide fastener comprises a pair of stringer tapes, a pair of rows of interdigitating fastener elements mounted on the inner longitudinal marginal edges of the respective stringer tapes, and a slider for reciprocally movable along the fastener element rows to bring the fastener element rows into or out of interdigitating engagement with each other and a bottom stop mounted on the lower end of the element rows to stop the descent of the slider. The slide fastener also includes a terminal latch member mounted on the fastener element rows at their upper end for letting the slider move therebeyond and coupling the respective one ends of the fastener element rows to each other to thus maintaining the fastener element rows into interdigitating engagement with each other.

A system and method are disclosed for restoring the shrunk seal line to its orginal length by corrugating and stretching it between mating teeth. 摘要： An apparatus for manufacturing slide fasteners of a predetermined length from a continuous slide fastener chain comprising a gripper unit for gripping a leading end of the continuous slide fastener chain and feeding the slide fastener chain longitudinally along a feed path, a cutter unit for cutting the slide fastener chain into a succession of slide fasteners of a predetermined length, and a plurality of slider holding units disposed downstream of the cutter unit along the feed path. The slider holding units are movable between a first position to hold a corresponding number of sliders in the feed path of the slide fastener chain to thread the sliders onto the slide fastener chain from the leading end thereof as the slide fastener chain is fed downstream by the gripper unit, and a second position remote from the first position. Each of the slider holding units is operative independent of the operation of another slider holding unit so that one or more sliders can selectively be threaded on the slide fastener chain by holding a desired number of the slide holding units in the first position.

摘要： A slide-fastener stringer half has a coupling coil having a row of turns defining a longitudinal passage and each formed with a coupling head, an upper leg and a lower leg extending transversely from the head and flanking the passage, and a bight extending from one of the respective legs to the other leg of the adjacent turn. A knitted tape against which the lower legs engage and from a longitudinal edge of which the heads project is formed of a plurality of outer warp chains adjacent the coil, an upper warp chain overlying both the upper and lower legs of the coils, and a lower warp chain overlying only the lower legs of the coil and extending along the passage between the upper and lower legs of the coil. Thus with this system the group of filaments forming the lower warp chain takes the place of the normally provided filling cord.

摘要： An apparatus for packing slide fasteners as they arrive in a longitudinal transport direction one after the other at a predetermined travel speed from a production facility has a speedup conveyor receiving the arriving slide fasteners and operating at a speed substantially higher than the travel speed thereof and a separating conveyor running transversely of the speedup conveyor and having an upstream end receiving the fasteners from the speedup conveyor and a downstream end transversely offset therefrom. A collection trough having a floor inclined to the horizontal, upper and lower ends, and a plate blocking the lower end is positioned underneath the separating conveyor to receive the fasteners therefrom and a downstream trough is aligned longitudinally with and has an upstream end separated by a space from the collection trough, a floor formed with a throughgoing aperture, and a downstream end. A collection vessel is provided underneath the downstream end of the downstream trough. A transport device has an upstream arm engageable in the collection trough at the lower end thereof and a downstream arm engageable in the space and downstream trough for displacing both of these arms between upstream and downstream positions for pushing respective bundles of the fasteners downstream. A packing unit in the space between the troughs applies a wrapping to the bundles thereat and a labeling unit underneath the aperture prints indicia on the wrappings as same pass the aperture.

摘要： An auxiliary film is applied or fused to a slide fastener chain having a pair of intermeshing rows of coupling elements with an element-free space defined therein. The slide fastener chain is fed by a chain feeder along a feed path. The device for applying the auxiliary film includes an ultrasonic horn disposed above the feed path, a holder disposed below the feed path and movable toward and away from the ultrasonic horn, a stopper disposed in the holder and movable into the element-free space of the slide fastener chain, an anvil disposed in the holder and movable toward and away from the ultrasonic horn, and a feed roller assembly for supplying an elongate auxiliary film onto the anvil. A sensor roller is mounted on the holder for pressed engagement with the elongate auxiliary film, the sensor roller having a plurality of circumferentially equally spaced controlling elements. A controlling element sensor is disposed near the sensor roller for sensing the controlling elements one at a time and issuing a command signal to keep the chain feeder energized insofar as the controlling element sensor successively senses the controlling elements.

When next gap in chain is detected by a finger which inserts itself into gap and abruptly stops further advance of tape, a cutter closes to cut chain to length. Puller is driven by air cylinder, and back pressure is applied soon after puller starts. This reduces pulling force and eliminates tearing of zipper tape as tape is abruptly stopped.
