Abstract:
A method of sewing a fastener stringer includes the steps of conveying a fastener stringer and an attached body to a sewing section of a sewing machine in a state with the fastener stringer superposed on the attached body, and arranging an element guide section in the sewing section of the sewing machine, bending a fastener tape in a direction in which a tape bent section opens, guiding the element rows to the element guide section, and sewing the fastener tape to the attached body. Accordingly, the method enables a sewing line formed by a sewing thread to be disposed at a predetermined position and the fastener tape and the attached body to be easily and efficiently sewn together.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus for automated insertion of sliders on continuous zipper material. The method involves the following steps: (a) advancing a section of zipper material past a leading edge of a splitter plate that pries the zipper strips of the zipper material apart; (b) clamping a first portion of one zipper strip against one side of the splitter plate, while clamping a first portion of the other zipper strip against an opposite side of the splitter plate, the first portions of the zipper strips being disposed on an upstream side of a slider insertion zone; (c) closing a portion of the zipper comprising respective second portions of the zipper strips disposed on a downstream side of the slider insertion zone; and (d) inserting a slider onto the zipper in the slider insertion zone. A plow of the slider is disposed between respective third portions of the zipper strips. The proximity of closed zipper to the closing end of the slider and the presence of open zipper at the opening end of the slider and adjacent the plow facilitates insertion of the slider onto the zipper.
Abstract:
A device is designed to facilitate operation of a separable slide fastener having a pair of stringers, respectively carrying first and second rows of interlocking elements, the rows respectively terminating at a stop member and a lug, the fastener including at least one slider moveable along the first row and having an aperture therethrough alignable with an aperture in the stop member when the slider is disposed in a terminal position. The device includes a handle and retention structure receivable in an aligning position in the apertures when the slider is in or is moved to its terminal position and engageable with the slider and the stop member to hold the slider in its terminal position so that the user does not have to manually do so during insertion of the lug into the apertures to join the stringers. When the lug is inserted it displaces the retention structure from the apertures. Several embodiments of the device are disclosed. They are usable with single-slider fasteners openable from one end or with dual slider fasteners openable from opposite ends.
Abstract:
Machining portions such as a cutter portion, a slider inserting portion and an upper stopper attaching portion are provided around the vertical axis of a fixed table portion in order of machining. A fastener chain cut to have a predetermined length is held by the fixed table portion and a gripper of a rotator provided around the same vertical axis. The fastener chain is rotated and transferred to each of the machining portions based on the intermittent rotation and control of the rotator in the holding state in the gripper. Every time a predetermined machining is completed in each of the machining portions for the fastener chain rotated and transferred intermittently, it is possible to rotate and transfer the fastener chain simultaneously and intermittently to the next machining portion, thereby carrying out the necessary machining continuously.
Abstract:
A method for mounting a slider device on a recloseable package includes mounting the slider device by intersecting the slider device with a zipper arrangement so that at least one of the slider device and the zipper arrangement is distorted to allow mounting. A particular method includes mounting the slider device includes intersecting the slider device with the zipper arrangement at an angle between about 20 to 60.degree., preferably about 45.degree.. In another method, the zipper arrangement is distorted to facilitate mounting of the slider device thereon, and in yet another method, the slider device is distorted to facilitate mounting.
Abstract:
The present invention provides an attaching device of a connecting ring to a pull tab for a slide fastener slider for attaching a connecting ring to a pull tab at a high speed. In the attaching device of a connecting ring to a pull tab for a slide fastener slider, a guide body having a guide groove for supplying a connecting ring while regulating an attitude of the connecting ring to be supplied is mounted on the supply belt. One connecting ring is supplied from a forward end of the supply belt by a connecting ring feed member. The supplied connecting ring is inserted into and received by a connecting ring accommodating recessed portion which is provided at a bottom portion of the connecting ring retainer and retains the connecting ring while regulating an attitude of the connecting ring to be attached. The connecting ring retainer moves down to attach the connecting ring to a connecting portion of the pull tab which has been carried by a rotary table.
Abstract:
An apparatus for gapping a zipper having a pair of slide fasteners stringers such that each fastener stringer has a continuous row of fastener elements secured to an edge thereof. The apparatus includes a support which has a substantially flat surface for supporting the stringers in a generally parallel alignment. An indexing wheel having a plurality of serrations located along a periphery thereof cooperates with the support to engage the fastener elements of each of the pair of fastener stringers for incrementally advancing the pair of fastener stringers a predetermined distance along the support. The hinged block is connected to the support. The hinged block is a pair of grooves formed along the surface thereof so as to be positioned in a path of the advancing fastener stringers for respectively receiving the fastener stringers in the area to be gapped. The hinged block is pivotable relative to the supports so that the fastener elements positioned in the pair of grooves of the hinged block are removed seriatim from each of the pair of fastener stringers and thereby form a gap in the slide fastener stringers in the region where the fastener elements are removed.
Abstract:
An apparatus for feeding a slide fastener chain with fabric strips attached thereto and including flaps extending over a pair of interengaged rows of coupling elements includes a narrow elongate lower guide member having a central guide groove extending longitudinally in an upper guide surface thereof for receiving and guiding the interengaged rows of coupling elements, and a presser roller disposed adjacent to an upstream end of said lower guide member for resiliently urging the slide fastener chain against the upper guide surface to cause the flaps to engage said upstream end of said lower guide member and then turn down away from the coupling elements on one side of said lower guide member as the slide fastener chain is fed by a feed unit longitudinally along a feed path toward a subsequent processing station.
Abstract:
A discharge device incorporated in an elongate article processing apparatus includes a discharge unit disposed immediately downstream of a cutter of the apparatus and a conveyor unit extending downstream of the discharge unit. The discharge unit includes a drive roller and a vertically movable pinch roller, the pinch roller being held in its upper standby position remote from the drive roller while the cutter is in operation. The conveyor unit includes a presser roller vertically movable, in independent of the movement of the pinch roller, into and out of engagement with a belt conveyor of the discharge unit.
