In one example, a system for the vehicle may include a wheel hub assembly coupled to a frame of the vehicle via a first wishbone arm and a second wishbone arm, and an air spring coupled at opposite ends to a first link and a second link, each of the first link and the second link being pivotably coupled to the frame of the vehicle, the second link further being pivotably coupled to the first wishbone arm. The air spring may be positioned above the wheel hub assembly with respect to the vehicle.

    摘要: A swing arm type suspension for a rear wheel of an off road vehicle can use two or three tie rods to control toe-in of the knuckle. The rear end of the swing arm is split between an upper clamping arm and a lower clamping arm defining an eye, with the knuckle connected to the upper and lower clamping arms by joint bearings, and with either the transmission shaft or one of the tie rods extending through the eye of the swing arm to the knuckle. The front of the swing arm can be connected to the vehicle frame using a cross-shaft joint. Camber, toe-in and half-track width are controlled to result in a smaller turning radius with better ride characteristics.

    摘要: A traction bar prevents rotation of an axle housing for a vehicle utilizing leaf springs. A traction bar has a rigid rail member having a first end and a second end. The traction bar also has a pivoting shackle member having a proximal end and a distal end. The proximal end of the shackle member is pivotally attached to the vehicle frame or to a vehicle frame bracket attached to the vehicle's frame. The distal end of the shackle member is pivotally attached to the first end of the rigid rail member. An axle bracket is pivotally attached to the second end of the rigid rail member. The three pivots provided with the traction bar provide for normal movement of the suspension without binding. However, upon acceleration or high torque load, the shackle member is thrust into axial alignment with the rigid rail member, stopping forward motion of the rigid rail member.
