    摘要: An elastomeric bushing includes an inner sleeve, a travel limiter disposed around the inner sleeve, an elastomeric bumper disposed around and directly engaging the travel limiter, and an outer sleeve disposed around the inner sleeve, the travel limiter and the elastomeric bumper. The outer sleeve is spaced apart from the inner sleeve and directly engages the elastomeric bumper. The travel limiter includes a radially outwardly extending first protrusion and a diametrically opposed radially outwardly extending second protrusion. A first portion of the elastomeric bumper is bounded by a first reduced diameter portion of the outer sleeve and the first and second protrusions. A second portion of the elastomeric bumper is bounded by a second reduced diameter portion of the outer sleeve and the first and second protrusions. The elastomeric bumper includes diametrically opposed voids axially extending therethrough. The voids are circumferentially rotated relative to the first and second protrusions.

A thickness of the elastic bushing at the recess in a radial direction is equal to or less than half a thickness of a portion of the elastic bushing in the radial direction which portion is located adjacent to the recess.

In order to obtain a nonlinear force vs. displacement characteristic of the device, substantially symmetrical around a certain and adjustable nonzero displacement value, the device (1) comprises at least one Belleville spring (5) disposed on the vibration transmitting path between said first displaceable object (3) and said second displaceable object (4), which is at least partially embedded in the volume of said substantially elastomeric core (2) and surrounds said opening (21). In particular the spring (5) is preloaded while said vibroisolating device (1) is in vibrations equilibrium position. The invention also relates to a motor vehicle suspension, in particular an adjustable active suspension system, comprising such a vibroisolating device.

    摘要: A pivot bearing used in a vehicle trailing arm suspension includes a housing, a resilient bush compressed and bonded in the housing, and a rigid axial sleeve in the bush. The bush has voids above and below the sleeve when the pivot bearing is fitted for use and stiffening elements which extend between the voids at opposite sides of the sleeve. When the pivot bearing is in use in a vehicle trailing arm suspension, the voids increase flexibility of the bush under generally vertical loading on the pivot bearing. The stiffening elements enhance the stiffness of the bush in generally horizontal direction for improved vehicle dynamics and reduced vibration. Preferably, the stiffening elements are of plate or leaf form, are bonded to the bush, and extend arcuately about the sleeve. The voids extend partially through the axial thickness of the bush from opposite ends of the bush and generally accurately about the sleeve. The bush also has enlarged opposite circumferential end portions. The end portions extend circumferentially beyond diametrically opposite parts of the external circumference of the sleeve and are in-turned towards the sleeve. Edges of the stiffening elements extend into the opposite end portions of the voids.

    摘要: An air-ride beam-type axle suspension system for tractor-trailers and other heavy-duty wheeled vehicles having a brake chamber of an air brake assembly mounted on the beam, wherein the beam is tapered. Specifically, each beam of the axle suspension system tapers from a narrower width at its end that is pivotally attached to a frame rail of the trailer, to a wider width at its opposite end. The tapered beam provides easier mounting of the suspension system on existing trailer frame rails and incorporation of a reduced-size pivot bushing at the narrower end of the beam, and optimizes the weight of the axle suspension system.
