    摘要: Methods and apparatus are provided for operating a free-piston linear alternator. The apparatus includes a linear machine having first and second coils wound around a path for a linearly-moving mass and a rotating machine having a rotating mass and third and fourth coils. The first coil is coupled to the third coil, and the second coil is coupled to the fourth coil, such that movement of the linearly-moving mass with respect to the first and second coils imparts a first magnetic field upon the rotating mass via the third and fourth coils. Further, movement of the rotating mass with respect to the third and fourth coils creates a second magnetic field upon the linearly-moving mass to position the linearly moving mass for combustion.

    摘要: A combustion chamber system, for use in connection with internal combustion powered fastener-driving tools, comprises a dual-level combustion chamber comprising first and second pre-combustion and main combustion chambers, and a dual-level rotary valve mechanism which is operatively connected to the dual-level combustion chamber so as to control the intake of the air/fuel mixture as well as the scavenging or purging of the exhaust gases or combustion products. The first and second pre-combustion and main combustion chambers are also separated by a plate having a plurality of apertures defined therein whereby multiple jets or flame fronts are defined throughout the combustion chamber system.

    摘要: A free piston engine utilizes a shuttle frame external to combustion chambers to rigidly link shuttle parts reciprocating along a centerline. If the shuttle parts are spaced apart along the centerline, the shuttle frame may be struts extending from the shuttle parts and linked by rods. Alternatively the shuttle parts are within a tubular shuttle frame that forms part of the combustion chamber boundary. If one shuttle part is arranged around the other with both centered about the centerline, the shuttle frame may include an annular plate between a cylindrical inner shuttle part and an annular outer shuttle part. Alternatively the shuttle frame may include an inner tube with a cylindrical inner shuttle part within the inner tube, and an outer tube with an annular outer shuttle part arranged between the inner and the outer tubes so that the shuttle frame forms part of the combustion chamber boundary.

Representative combustion power tool may comprise a combustion chamber, a gas supply section, a single spark plug, an ignition control device, a cylinder connected to the combustion chamber, a piston member and a tool member. The ignition control device includes a plurality of ignition circuits connected to the single spark plug to independently input power to the spark plug, and a control section that controls the manner of power input in each of the ignition circuits. According to such construction, power input in each of the ignition circuits can be controlled and therefore, a desired power output at the single spark plug can be realized.
