    摘要: An improved safety actuator for an AK-47 firearm. The improved actuator utilizes a conventional receiver actuator modified to include a grip arm. The internal mechanism of the improved actuator and the conventional actuator are identical. This allows replacement of the conventional actuator with an improved actuator during field stripping, with no gun smithing. A grip arm depends from the receiver actuator, preferably from the receiver actuator's pivot point. The grip arm is aligned with the rifle's pistol grip. The shooter can control the safety actuator by squeezing the grip arm onto the pistol grip with his dominant hand. Thus, the safety may be moved from a safe position to a fire position without removing either hand from a sound firing position. The grip arm may be provided with a push bar to facilitate use of the dominant thumb to return the safety actuator to a safe position.

The method including the steps of: removably and rotatably locating a reversible safety selector in a receiver having a first side and an opposite second side, the reversible safety selector having a selector member and a shaft extending therefrom, the shaft being rotationally received within the receiver and the shaft further comprising a first position selection feature proximate to the selector member and a second position selection feature distal to the selector member, wherein a camming surface is located between the first position selection feature and the second position selection feature, wherein the first position selection feature is configured to only engage a spring biased detent of the receiver when the reversible safety selector is rotated between a first position and a second position with respect to the receiver when the selector member is located on the first side of the receiver, wherein the second position selection feature is configured to only engage the spring biased detent of the receiver when the reversible safety selector is rotated between the first position and the second position with respect to the receiver when the selector member is located on the second side of the receiver, and wherein the camming surface contacts a portion of a trigger of the firearm as the reversible safety selector is rotated between the first position and the second position with respect to the receiver.

    摘要: An automatic sear assembly for providing a large-bore rifle with full-automatic firing and/or burst firing capabilities is disclosed. In accordance with some embodiments, the disclosed assembly includes an automatic sear operatively configured with a sear lever which is provided with bidirectional articulation for selectively imparting torque on the automatic sear to cause tripping thereof. For example, the disclosed assembly can be configured such that rotational deflection of the sear lever away from the automatic sear imparts no rotation thereto, whereas rotational deflection of the sear lever toward the automatic sear imparts rotation thereto. Thus, and in accordance with some embodiments, the disclosed sear assembly can be used in a rifle, for example, to utilize the force of a moving bolt carrier during a given firing cycle to initiate a subsequent firing cycle without need to release and once again operate the trigger of the rifle.

    摘要: A trigger arrangement for an automatic weapon with switch-over between continuous firing and single-shot modes includes a hammer, a breechblock, a latch, a pivotably mounted trigger, and a firing lever. In the single-shot mode, the firing lever engages the hammer and retains it in tension while the trigger is depressed. When the continuous firing mode is selected, the firing lever is moved to an inactive position and retained by an engaging element. The engaging element is preferably a slider which is controlled by a safety and firing cessation roller that is actuated by an operating lever.

The trigger and semi-automatic disconnector can be used to fire the firearm in a semi-automatic firing mode. The electro-mechanical movement mechanism can control release of the hammer by the automatic sear, but only after a first firing of the firearm by release of the hammer from a mechanical interlock with the trigger. The electro-mechanical movement mechanism has an actuator attached to a piezoelectric member. The piezoelectric member moves the actuator to move the automatic sear between a hammer holding position and a hammer release position.

    摘要: The invention relates to a tripping mechanism for semiautomatic and automatic firearms with a closed-type bolt carriage and which can be used in either a single shot firing mode or an automatic firing mode. The mechanism has a sear 4 slidably fitted on the trigger between the oscillating pivot 5 of the trigger and a resting plane 6a formed on the trigger, away from the pivot. The sear is stressed by a spring 11 which normally pushes it towards the hammer to interact with the latter. The sear 4 is susceptible to movement with the trigger when the trigger is operated and is also susceptible to a longitudinal sliding on the trigger in one direction due to spring 11 and in the opposite direction due to the hammer at least during the engaging in armed position phase, as well as the balancing phase between oscillating pivot 5 and resting plane 6a.

    摘要: A locked breach, gas operated long action firearm capable of firing heavy caliber shotgun or rifle shells with substantially reduced recoil. The gas piston and bolt carrier assembly are supported for recoil movement along a single guide rod which extends the entire length of the gun, permitting a longer recoil path resulting in reduced impulse due to recoil. The guide rod has a noncircular or radially-assymmetrical cross-section mating with a corresponding opening in the gas piston, so that the bolt carrier assembly remains in alignment over the entire recoil path. Separate close-bolt and open-bolt embodiments are disclosed, and the open-bolt embodiment is selectively capable of firing either semi-automatic or full-automatic while permitting reliable cartridge feeding from a box or drum magazine.
