The first waveguide portion can include a first plurality of cell portions and a first iris portion that is disposed between two of the first plurality of cell portions. The first iris portion can include a first portion of an aperture such that the aperture is configured to be disposed about a beam axis. The first waveguide portion can further include a first bonding surface. The second waveguide portion can include a second plurality of cell portions and a second iris portion that is disposed between two of the second plurality of cell portions. The second iris portion can include a second portion of the aperture. The second waveguide portion can include a second bonding surface.

The radiation generation apparatus includes: an accelerating tube in which an accelerating cavity is defined by a tubular-shaped housing having conductivity and a plurality of cells made of a dielectric material, center openings of the cells being aligned so as to be communicated with each other in a direction in which the cells are arranged in the housing; an RF amplifier that supplies a high-frequency power to the accelerating tube; and an electron gun that emits a charged particle passing through the opening of each of the cells in the accelerating tube.

    摘要: An RF feedthrough has an electrically insulative cone that is hollow having first and second openings at first and second ends having first and second diameters. The first diameter is larger than the second diameter, defining a tapered sidewall of the cone to an inflection point. A stem is coupled to the second end of the cone, and passes through the first opening and second opening. A flange is coupled to the first end of the cone and has a flange opening having a third diameter. The third diameter is smaller than the first diameter. The stem passes through the flange opening without contacting the flange. The flange couples the cone to a chamber wall hole. Contact portions of the cone may be metallized. The cone and flange pass the stem through the hole while electrically insulating the stem from the wall of the chamber.

    摘要: An electron accelerator is provided. The electron accelerator comprises a resonant cavity comprising a hollow closed conductor, an electron source configured to inject a beam of electrons, and an RF system. The electron accelerator further comprises a magnet unit, comprising a deflecting magnet. The deflecting magnet is configured to generate a magnetic field in a deflecting chamber in fluid communication with the resonant cavity by a deflecting window. The magnetic field is configured to deflect an electron beam emerging out of the resonant cavity through the deflecting window along a first radial trajectory in the mid-plane (Pm) and to redirect the electron beam into the resonant cavity through the deflecting window towards the central axis along a second radial trajectory. The deflecting magnet is composed of first and second permanent magnets positioned on either side of the mid-plane (Pm).

    摘要: The invention relates to an HF resonator comprising a cylindrical cavity made of a dielectric material. An inner face of the cavity has an electrically conductive coating which is divided into a first inner coating and a second inner coating by an electrically insulating gap that encircles a lateral face of the cavity in an annular manner. An outer face of the cavity has an electrically conductive first outer coating and an electrically conductive second outer coating. The first outer coating and the second outer coating are electrically insulated from each other. The HF resonator comprises a device that is provided for applying a high-frequency electric voltage between the first outer coating and the second outer coating.

    摘要: A microwave circuit for a linear accelerator includes multiple monolithic metallic cell plates stacked upon each other so that the beam axis passes vertically through a central acceleration cavity of each plate. Each plate has a directional coupler with coupling arms. A first coupling slot couples the directional coupler to an adjacent directional coupler of an adjacent cell plate, and a second coupling slot couples the directional coupler to the central acceleration cavity. Each directional coupler also has an iris protrusion spaced from corners joining the arms, a convex rounded corner at a first corner joining the arms, and a corner protrusion at a second corner joining the arms.

    摘要: A method for exciting a resonator having a resonance frequency, the resonator is excited in a first period with a first frequency that differs from the resonance frequency by a first frequency difference is provided. During a second period, the resonator is excited with a second frequency that differs from the resonance frequency by a second frequency difference. The first frequency difference and the second frequency difference have different signs. Additionally, the amounts of the first frequency difference and of the second frequency difference differ from one another by less than 10% of the greater amount.

    摘要: The present invention provides an accelerating structure capable of increasing a degree of vacuum at a middle part inside the accelerating structure while confining an alternating electric field to the inside. An accelerating structure 1 is formed of a plurality of annular discs 2 and 3 serially connected into a cylindrical shape. At least one of the discs 3 disposed at a middle part of the accelerating structure 1 includes: a choke structure formed by a choke filter 7; and a vacuum port 8 opened in an outer circumferential surface of the disc on an outer circumferential side radially outward from the choke structure, and the vacuum port 8 is connected to an external exhaust device.
