Abstract: The present disclosure relates to rotating electric machines which may be used for industrial applications, to a method for manufacturing a rotor of a synchronous reluctance motor, a rotor of a synchronous reluctance motor, and a synchronous reluctance motor. A rotor of a synchronous reluctance motor according to the present disclosure has a cylindrical rotor body part casted from a superparamagnetic material, and ferromagnetic flux guides arranged inside the casted cylindrical rotor body part. The flux guides are arranged to go through from one side of the outer circumference of the cylindrical rotor part to the other side of the outer circumference of the cylindrical rotor part in the direction of the direct axis of the synchronous reluctance motor.

Abstract: A system and method for additively manufacturing splices and terminations for extra high, high, medium and low voltage power cable includes providing an additive manufacturing machine having at least one print head. Cable ends can be secured within a chamber from which atmospheric air can be evacuated and replaced with non-oxidizing gas. A scanning device can determine the composition and position of the various constituents of the cable ends, from which information a controller can determine the printing sequence and print a termination or splice portion.

Abstract: A microgrid includes a plurality of distributed energy resources such as controllable distributed electric generators and electrical energy storage devices. A method of controlling operation of the microgrid includes periodically updating a distributed energy resource schedule for the microgrid that includes on/off status of the controllable distributed electric generators and charging/discharging status and rate of the electrical energy storage devices and which satisfies a first control objective for a defined time window, based at least in part on a renewable energy generation and load forecast for the microgrid. The method further includes periodically determining power set points for the controllable distributed energy resources which satisfy a second control objective for a present time interval within the defined time window, the second control objective being a function of at least the distributed energy resource schedule for the microgrid.

Abstract: A machine remotely located from a control station has at least one actuated mechanism. A two way real-time communication link connects the machine location with the control station. A controller at the machine location has program code that includes an instruction which when executed transfers control of the machine from the controller to the control station. The program code can have a task frame associated with the predetermined function performed by the machine with the task frame divided into a first set controlled by the controller and a second set controlled from the control station. The system can also have two or more remotely located control stations only one of which can control the machine at a given time.

Abstract: There is described a method for driving paralleled electronic switches via a drive signal processing circuit (1) connected to respective driver circuits (5A, 5B) associated with said electronic switches (7 A, 7B).
