摘要: A method and device for managing and configuring field devices in an automation installation has a configuration tool that is designed to physically identify a field device in the automation installation, to logically incorporate it into the automation installation and to configurate it in the automation installation, wherein the configuration tool to this end resorts to a prescribed first field-device-specific information package that describes the functions and data of the field device at least in part. The screen may have a first screen element provided on it that has a plurality of second screen elements in a first orientation and a plurality of third screen elements, which are each subordinate to a second screen element, in a second orientation, wherein precisely one second screen element and at least one third screen element, which are logically connected to one another, are arranged along the second orientation.

摘要: An exemplary system and method for displaying technical equipment of an industrial plant includes a graphical display unit and a user interface for receiving image handling parameters. A data storing unit provides data relating to the technical equipment in the form of device data and network data describing a communication network of the industrial plant. The device data describes network devices which are all connected to the communication network and belong to the industrial plant, and the network data describes all the communication connections between the network devices. A data processing unit is arranged for retrieving the provided data, transforming all the device data and all the network data into displayable information, and providing the image representations together with other displayable information to the graphical display unit. The graphical display unit is arranged to display the image representations and other displayable information according to the image handling parameters.

摘要: A fiber optic sensor and related method are described, with the sensor including a cross-coupling element in the optical path between a polarizing element and a sensing element, but separated from the sensing element itself; with the cross-coupling element generating a defined cross-coupling between the two orthogonal polarization states of the fundamental mode of a polarization maintaining fiber guiding light from the light source to the sensing element thus introducing a wavelength-dependent or temperature-dependent sensor signal shift to balance wavelength-dependent or temperature-dependent signal shifts due to other elements of the sensor, particularly signal shifts due to the wavelength dependence of the Faraday effect or the electro-optic effect constant.
