Abstract: This disclosure describes the following enhancement to improve the PDCCH reliability: PDCCH aggregation and multi-beam PDCCH reception for a 5G wireless communication system. The disclosed techniques entail obtaining repeated PDCCH by processing a PDCCH-Config, ControlResourceSet, or SearchSpace configuration parameter including an information element (IE) indicating a number of consecutive slots in which the PDCCH is repeated. In another embodiment, a gNB generates the PDCCH-Config, ControlResourceSet, or SearchSpace configuration parameter for configuring a UE to receive the repeated PDCCH and employ the multi-beam PDCCH reception.

The device includes a radio frequency (RF) interface and processing circuitry coupled to the RF interface. The processing circuitry is to: cause communication with a NR evolved Node B (gNodeB) on a first bandwidth part (BWP); determine a BWP switching delay for an uplink (UL) communication from the UE to the gNodeB, the BWP switching delay based on a timing advance (TA) for the UL communication; encode the UL communication for transmission to the gNodeB; switch from the first BWP to a second BWP at an expiration of the BWP switching delay; and cause transmission of the UL communication on the second BWP.

Abstract: In at least one embodiment, a user equipment (UE) may receive a control signal from a base station to update a target pathloss reference signal from an existing pathloss reference signal. In at least one embodiment, the UE may obtain a plurality of samples of the target pathloss reference signal. In at least one embodiment, the UE may determine, based on obtaining the plurality of samples of the target pathloss reference signal, that the UE is unable to update the target pathloss reference signal. In at least one embodiment, the UE may adjust the uplink transmission power of the UE based on the existing pathloss reference signal or to a maximum transmit power based on said determining that the UE is unable to be updated to the target pathloss reference signal.

Abstract: A communication system provides reliable wideband communications with reduced power consumption in a user equipment (UE) receiver. A UE may include receiver circuitry to receive a radio frequency (RF) signal from a wireless network and output an analog baseband signal. The RF signal includes M copies of a duplicated signal in a frequency domain. The analog baseband signal includes the M copies of the duplicated signal uniformly offset from one another in the frequency domain by a bandwidth F and including a gap between adjacent copies. The UE further includes an anti-aliasing analog filter an analog to digital converter (ADC). The ADC samples an output of the anti-aliasing analog filter at a sampling frequency selected to obtain a digital baseband signal comprising a combined digital copy of the M copies of the duplicated signal folded over each other.

Abstract: A method of a user equipment (UE) performing cell re-selection in New Radio (NR) unlicensed (NR-U) idle mode includes performing cell re-selection associated with a selected public land mobile network (PLMN) in New Radio (NR) unlicensed (NR-U) idle mode. Performing cell re-selection in NR-U idle mode further comprises determining a best cell associated with the selected PLMN based on one or more measurements. At least one of the one or more measurements may comprise a channel occupancy measurement. Performing cell re-selection in NR-U idle mode further comprises camping on the best cell and periodically searching for cells that are determined to be better than the best cell based on the one or more measurements.

Abstract: Methods to enhance the coverage of NR systems for coverage-limited wireless devices are disclosed. A serving base station may configure a coverage-limited UE with parameters for the UE to operate in a coverage enhancement mode through RRC signaling, DCI, or RAR grant. The UE may use the configuration parameters to determine whether to enter into the coverage enhancement mode when connecting and communicating with the serving base station. The configuration parameters may configure the UE to exploit both time diversity and frequency diversity to extend and enhance coverage when receiving PDSCH and PDCCH channels. The UE may use the configuration parameters to receive PDSCH and PCCCH that are coverage enhanced using time repetitions and frequency hopping. Advantageously, the base station may flexibly and dynamically configure the UE with coverage enhancement parameters to extend the coverage of the UE using time diversity and frequency diversity gains as the UE moves around.

The downlink control channel configuration information may configure control resources associated with multiple transmission reception points in a search space for the wireless device. The wireless device may perform downlink control channel candidate blind decoding during a monitoring occasion configured by the search space configured with control resources associated with multiple transmission reception points.
