Abstract: A zero knowledge communications protocol is provided that can unconditionally secure communications sent through a communications network by encrypting all messages, continuously sending noise messages through the network, and routing all network activity through an anonymity network. This combination of components prevent an eavesdropper on the network from garnering any information about when a communication is sent, the contents and statistics of a communication, the sender, or the intended recipient of the communication.

Abstract: A mount connects a light emitting device, such as a laser diode assembly, to an optical bench. The mount may include a thermoelectrical module coupled to a sub-element of a heat exchanger extending through an opening formed in the optical bench. The thermoelectrical module acts as a heat sink to draw heat outwardly from the laser diode and cool the same. The heat sink enables the laser diode to transmit heat thereto such that substantially all of the heat generated by the laser diode sinks to the heat exchanger. As such, the laser diode transfers virtually no heat to the optical bench so the optical bench is free of deflections or distortions resultant from the heat generated during generation of the laser beam.

Abstract: An MCM-HIC device flexibly adds enhanced features to a VLSI “core” IC that are not directly supported by the core IC, such as unsupported communication protocols and/or support of cold spare operation. The core IC is mounted on an interconnecting substrate together with at least one “chiplet” that provides the required feature(s). The chiplet can be programmable. The chiplet can straddle a boundary of an interposer region of the substrate that provides higher density interconnections at lower currents. The disclosed method can include selecting a core IC and at least one active, passive, or “mixed” chiplet, configuring a substrate, and installing the core IC and chiplet(s) on the substrate. In embodiments, the core IC and/or chiplet(s) can be modified before assembly to obtain the desired result. Cost can be reduced by pre-designing and, in embodiments, pre-manufacturing the chiplets and modified core ICs in cost-effective quantities.

Abstract: The system and method for frequency encoded beacons for use in covert dismount identification, friend or foe and communications. Waveforms are capped at thresholds below human and conventional night vision detection. Waveforms are further modulated to identify dismounts as well as other information such as day and time, rank, health status, and the like. The beacons may operate at different wavelengths depending on whether they are used on ground, in air, or at sea.

By providing background illumination via one or more radiation sources the accuracy of the laser detection system can be improved. A closed loop system detects the background current on the detector and provides additional illumination when the back ground level is below a threshold current value thus providing for a faster detector response.

Abstract: The system and method for accurately determining range-to-go for the time-delayed command detonation of a projectile. Using dual laser and/or radio frequency detectors on a spinning projectile to determine the range-to-go, time-to-go, or lateral offset from the projectile to the target. The detectors are forward facing and rear facing and are located in a tail kit such that cost can be greatly reduced on a spinning projectile. The deployable detector(s) may be a light pipe, mirrors, or the like and comprise APD or PIN diodes.
