    Abstract: Provided are a forming method for an arc spring, capable of easily and surely locating bearing faces on both end faces of a semi-finished product in predetermined positions, the bearing faces having lengths within permissible ranges in a circumferential direction. For a semi-finished product prior to curving an axis, it is determined whether circumferential lengths of bearing faces on both end faces are respectively within the permissible ranges based on end face image information of the both end faces imaged in an axial direction prior to the curving, a circumferential rotational position of the semi-finished product capable of respectively locating the bearing faces within the predetermined positions is specified using the end face image information, and the semi-finished product is rotated to the specified rotational position, and the wedge part is sequentially driven into inter-wires of the semi-finished product to deform the semi-finished product.

    Abstract: Provided are a bending structure and a flexible tube for a medical manipulator, which comprise a main body that is composed of the wave washers stacked in an axial direction and kept a stacked state, the main body being bendable according to the expansion and contraction in the axial direction. Accordingly, linearity of load characteristics based on load and a bending angle is made high to make it possible to obtain the flexible tube having superior load bearing and bendability while conducting size reduction.

    Abstract: A disk-drive suspension includes a load beam, a flexure laid on top of the load beam, a first terminal provided on the flexure, and a first bump arranged on a top surface of the first terminal. The first terminal includes a narrow part having a first width in a first direction and including a center of the first terminal, and a wide part having a second width in the first direction greater than the first width.     Abstract: A joined body includes: a thin plate including through holes; first members each including: a base portion and a protruding portion inserted into one of the through holes; and a second member placed oppositely to the base portion via the thin plate and made of a material that is of a same kind as a material of the first members. The thin plate is made of a material having a specific gravity smaller than the materials of the first and the second members. The second member and an end portion of the protruding portion are connected together by melt-solidification. A post-joining hardness difference in a range of 30% along a direction orthogonal to a joint interface between the second member and the protruding portion, the range being centered on the joint interface, is equal to or less than 90% of a pre-joining hardness difference.

    Abstract: A control cable connection structure includes a long, narrow casing, a casing end, a cable end and a slider. An end portion of a first conduit is anchored at one end portion, in a length direction, of the casing. An end portion of a second conduit is anchored at the casing end. The casing end is superposed and assembled with the casing in a radial direction of the second conduit. The cable end is attached to an end portion of a second inner cord. An end portion of a first inner cord is anchored at the slider. The slider is supported at the casing to be slidable in the length direction thereof. In the assembled state, the cable end is engaged with the slider at an opposite side from a side at which the second conduit is disposed, and the second inner cord is connected with the slider.
