Abstract:
A fast closing remotely activated animal trap gate includes a gate with a wire mesh and a frame to hold the gate, with the gate moving within the frame between an open position and a closed position. A cable, interacting with a system of weight-reducing pulley wheels, holds the gate within the frame in an open position, and a release rod holds the cable in place. The release rod is retracted in order to allow release of the cable and consequent movement of the gate from the open position to the closed position. In some embodiments, low friction ball-bearing trolley wheels assist in the fast, downward fall of the gate.
Abstract:
A gantry wheel adjustment system and method to adjust a gantry wheel of a proton treatment system, including an estimation unit to estimate a bearing adjustment value for each of the adjustable bearings based on a stiffness parameter of each adjustable bearing, the stiffness parameter being a function of a force applied at each adjustable bearing and a deflection of the gantry wheel associated with the force applied at each adjustable bearing, the bearing adjustment value corresponding to a nominal position value for each adjustable bearing to compensate for gantry wheel flexing when the gantry wheel is rotated from a first angular position to a second angular position, the adjustable bearings being configured to support the gantry wheel on the bearing surface and maintain the proton beam at the isocenter of the gantry wheel during gantry wheel rotation.
Abstract:
A filter part for fluid lines, preferably high-pressure lines with pressures in the range of 150 to 900 bar, preferably in the range of 200 to 350 bar, more preferably in the range of 700 to 875 bar, for use especially in filling nipples, non-return valves, pressure regulators, cylinder valves, filling couplings, switching valves, break-off safety devices, quick couplings and also as a separate filter part. The filter part comprises a base body and at least one fluid passage opening, wherein the base body and the fluid passage opening are covered by at least one filter element. The invention further relates to a method for producing a filter part with a base body and a filter element, especially in form of a screen filter which is also known as a filter mesh.

An adjustable mounting bracket for mounting a mailbox, the mounting bracket including a first side section configured to contact one side of the mailbox and having one or more first anchoring portions extending inwardly from the first side section to contact a supporting body, and a second side section configured to contact another side of the mailbox and having one or more second anchoring portions extending inwardly from the second side section to contact the supporting body, wherein the first and second anchoring portions are configured to contact the supporting body without overlapping.
Abstract:
An electric light strand is disclosed which comprises a cable comprising at least one wire, and a plurality of sockets secured to the cable. Each socket defines an internal cavity for receiving a sleeve portion a light bulb. Each internal cavity defines a central axis. Each socket comprises a plurality of contacts configured to provide electrical communication between the at least one wire and a corresponding one of the sleeve portions. Each central axis extends in an orientation non-perpendicular to a corresponding portion of the cable secured to the corresponding socket.
Abstract:
A hull mounted, steerable marine drive system having trim actuation is both steerable through 360 degrees and is trimmable in a range of from approximately +3 degrees to approximately −15 degrees. The marine drive system includes a watertight enclosure assembly for sealing the hull, which is adapted for keeping much of the marine drive system from being exposed to water. The enclosure includes a gasket flange plate, a retention plate and a folded gasket. The gasket flange plate closely follows the contour of the hull and enhances the hydrodynamic and wake performance of the present marine drive system. Further, marine drive system includes a forward-neutral-reverse (FNR) transmission assembly, a drive unit assembly having a trimmable upper unit and a steerable lower unit, a steering actuator assembly, a trim actuator assembly, and, preferably, trim foils for enhancing lift to assist in getting the boat up on plane.
Abstract:
Described is an animal door that is movable between a closed position and an open position and that has an adjustable resistance against the door being removed from the closed position to the open position. More specifically, the animal door defines a passageway and includes a flap that is moveable between the closed position and the open position, whereby the flap obstructs the passageway when at the closed position. The animal door generates a magnetic force that generates a resistance against the flap being moved from the closed position to the open position, whereby magnitude of the magnetic force, and thus the resistance, is adjustable.
Abstract:
Systems and methods of analyzing the distribution of weight of animals, including a base member, a plurality of sensor regions connected to the base member to respectively receive feet of the animal when the animal is standing, each sensor region having a plurality of sensors to generate signals indicative of weight applied by each foot to a respective sensor region, at least a portion of the sensors being located between the base member and the sensor regions and spaced apart proximate perimeter portions of each sensor region, and a control unit to generate an output indicative of the weight applied by each foot to the respective sensor regions based on an aggregation of the generated signals.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a pixilated neutron detector including one or more pixel-cells defined by a plurality of perimeter walls, the pixel cells including a cathode and an anode, the cathode being at least one wall of the pixel-cell, the cathode being lined with an interaction material, the anode disposed inside the pixel-cell, the cathode and anode structured to provide an electrical field within the pixel-cell to collect charged particles released by neutrons interacting with the interaction material lining, and a signal processing chain communicably coupled to each of the one or more pixel cells to transmit a signal indicative of a neutron interaction event within the pixel-cell, the signal processing chain including analog signal processing electronics communicably coupled to digital signal processing electronics.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a stackable chair containing a flexible back support frame mechanism that includes an improved spring system designed to allow reclining movement of a back support frame relative to a seat assembly. The back support frame and seat assembly are connected using right and left spring members disposed in a substantial surface-to-surface contact relationship with the seat assembly and back support frame members.
