    Abstract: In a fluid flow machine, especially a gas turbine, axially penetrated by a hot gas stream, the rotor shaft is surrounded by heat shield segments or by base plates of the rotor blades on the rotor side. In the heat shield segments and in the base plates, cooling air chambers are provided, communicating with each other and with a cooling air source, which chambers communicate at least partially with gaps which extend in the longitudinal direction or peripheral direction of the rotor shaft between adjacent rotor blades or between heat shield segments and adjacent base plates of the rotor blades. These gaps are closed off by sealing bands such that a cooling air entry into the hot gas stream is only possible at the ends of the base plates of the rotor blades pointing contrary to the flow direction.

    Abstract: The invention relates to a fabric filter system, having a first fabric filtering device in the form of elongated tubular fabric bag; a first gas tank for providing compressed gas; a first pulsing gas duct fluidly connected between the first fabric filtering device and the first gas tank through a first pulsing valve for cleaning the first fabric filtering device. The fabric filter system further includes a second gas tank for providing compressed gas. The second gas tank is fluidly connected with the first gas tank through a control valve. The first pulsing valve is opened to introduce the compressed gas into the first filtering device for cleaning when the control valve remains open. The control valve is closed after a predetermined time. A method for cleaning the fabric filter system is disclosed.

    Abstract: The invention relates to an axial flow turbine and method of operating thereof. The turbine comprises a last stage of rotating blades located towards a downstream end of the turbine having a distal region at an end of the airfoil of the blades. A monitoring control system has at least one sensor in the distal region of at least one last stage blade for measuring at least one physical property of the airfoil and a control element that is capable of influencing at least one physical property of the distal region. In that in the case of a defined transient operating state of the gas turbine plant that can be detected by the protection unit, the at least one first limit value of the safety-relevant operating parameter is raised to a second limit value, wherein the gas turbine plant is protected by an emergency switch-off of the gas turbine plant once said second limit value is exceeded. Furthermore, secondary protective functions can be carried out in the process controller.

    Abstract: The invention relates to a warming arrangement having a warming system for warming a steam turbine. The warming system has a makeup line and recycle line fluidly connected to the steam turbine. A gas moving device and a heater are located in either of these two lines.
