摘要: A test tool for a low voltage devices is described. The test tool comprises a voltage sensor, a current sensor, a diode sensor, a testing module, and an indicator. The voltage sensor determines a voltage between a first and second electrical wire from an alternating current (AC) transformer. The current sensor determines a current between the first and second electrical wires. The diode sensor determines a presence of a diode connected to the first and second electrical wires based on the current and the voltage. The testing module identifies one or more installation diagnostics related to a device to be coupled with the AC transformer. The indicator generates a visual or audible indicator corresponding to the one or more installation diagnostics.

摘要: The service life of electrical equipment is predicted using a thermal history sensor mounted in the electrical equipment. At least one thermal history sensor is mounted inside or on an outer wall surface of electrical equipment. The thermal history sensor includes dissimilar metal joints, and the resistance values of the dissimilar metal joints change in response to the amount of intermetallic compound growing in the dissimilar metal joints due to the temperature inside the electrical equipment or of the outer wall thereof during operation. A determining mechanism periodically or irregularly monitors and stores in memory the resistance values of the dissimilar metal joints from the thermal history sensor, and uses the stored history of resistance values to predict the service life of the electrical equipment.

摘要: Test measurements on a utility power device by a switch matrix apparatus and a common voltage source as separate devices is performed. Through the switch matrix apparatus, the common voltage source selectively sends a first high voltage signal via a first lead to a first terminal of the utility power device, measures a first corresponding signal returned via a second lead of the switch matrix apparatus from a second terminal of the utility power device. While the first lead and the second lead of the switch matrix apparatus remain electrically coupled to the first and the second terminal of the utility power device, a second high voltage signal is selectively sent via the second lead to the second terminal of the utility power device, and a second corresponding signal returned from the first terminal of the utility power device via the first lead of the switch matrix apparatus is measured.

摘要: Embodiments of the disclosure relate to detecting turn-to-turn faults in one or more windings of various objects. In one implementation, a fault detector receives a set of current measurements associated with a transformer and uses these measurements to execute a procedure for detecting a turn-to-turn fault in the transformer. The procedure can include dividing a steady-state differential current value by a steady-state voltage value to obtain one or more compensating factors, determining a magnetizing current amplitude indicator by multiplying the steady-state voltage value by the one or more compensating factors, determining a compensated differential current value by combining the steady-state differential current value with a modifier value that incorporates the magnetizing current amplitude indicator, comparing the compensated differential current value against a threshold value, and declaring an occurrence of the turn-to-turn fault in the transformer when the compensated differential current value exceeds the threshold value.

For this purpose, the present invention measures sequential positions of arrival of partial discharge signals and the differences in the time of arrival between the partial discharge signals with respect to a plurality of partial discharge sensors installed on the outside surface of a power device, divides the power device into a plurality of spatial sections, determines a spatial section where the location of a partial discharge is present using the sequential positions of arrival of the partial discharge signals, calculates the representative location value of the determined spatial section, and determines compensation values for the differences in the time of arrival to be applied with respect to the respective spatial sections.
