摘要: Firearm discharge location systems and methods are described. According to one aspect, a firearm discharge location system includes a plurality of microphones spaced from one another, timing circuitry configured to generate a plurality of asynchronous timing references, wherein data capture operations with respect to the microphones of a first pair are synchronized with one another using a first of the timing references and data capture operations with respect to the microphones of a second pair are synchronized with one another using a second of the timing references, and processing circuitry configured to use outputs of the first and second pairs of the microphones to identify a location of a firearm discharge.

A first receiver is arranged at a distance of at most one half wavelength λ/2 of the ultrasonic signal from a second receiver and from a third receiver. The at least three receivers are arranged in one plane. A processor is configured to determine the respective time-of-flight from the ultrasonic signal received at each of the at least three receivers. The respective time-of-flight is a time that the ultrasonic signal requires from the transmitting unit at a defined start time to the respective receiver. The processor is further configured to determine the three-dimensional position and/or direction of the transmitting unit from the determined times-of-flight and the arrangement of the at least three receivers.

摘要: According to one embodiment, a position location system includes a plurality of sensors, a time measurement unit, an angle calculation unit, and a position location unit. The plurality of sensors are arranged at a predetermined sensor interval. The time measurement unit measures a difference in time at which elastic waves arrive at the plurality of sensors. The angle calculation unit calculates an incident angle at which the elastic waves are incident on the plurality of sensors on the basis of the time difference. The position locator locates a source of the elastic waves on the basis of the incident angle. The predetermined sensor interval is a distance determined on the basis of a sound velocity of elastic waves propagating in a structure in which the plurality of sensors are arranged and a frequency characteristic of the sensor.

摘要: A method for recognizing infrasound events includes detecting infrasonic source using one or more microphone arrays each having three equally-spaced infrasound microphones. The method includes identifying, via a data acquisition system (DAS), a level of coherence of the detected infrasonic acoustic signals from each possible pair of microphones and recognizing the infrasound source using the coherence and a time history of the detected signals. The method may include estimating source properties via the DAS, including a magnitude, azimuth angle, and elevation angle, and executing a control action in response to the estimated properties. A system includes the array and the DAS. The array may be positioned above or below ground, and may be connected to one or more aircraft in some embodiments.

摘要: A transmitter subsystem periodically transmits ranging signals at transmit times, and a receiver subsystem receives the ranging signals at receive times within a receiver window having an adjustable time duration. A real-time position of a mobile device supporting one of the subsystems is determined based on differences between the receive and transmit times. An expected arrival time for the transmitted ranging signals is determined based on the real-time position of the mobile device. Each receive time is compared with the expected arrival time to obtain a consistency rate of the ranging signals that are received by the receiver subsystem directly from the transmitter subsystem. The time duration of the receiver window is dynamically adjusted based on the consistency rate.
