Abstract:
Having detected an anomalous fault in a peripheral I/O slot, a processor entity may need to perform some remedial action, wherein the peripheral slot may have a fault line. First a voltage may be detected on the slot. Processor entity may set a fault if a voltage is found. A hotplug controller which may provide outputs that the processing entity may store as a fault syndrome word. The service processor or operating system, either during initial program load, or at another time, may detect that the fault could be a false fault depending on a set of predefined conditions and following the mechanism described here can then clear the fault earlier set. If an action from a previous device list is set, then there may be a clearing of the voltage fault based on determining that the action is set.
Abstract:
An embodiment of a dynamic messaging system receives a message presentation request from a program distributor, the message presentation request having a first identifier that identifies the receiving device and a second identifier corresponding to one of a fixed message indicator and a dynamic message indicator. In response to receiving the message presentation request identifying the receiving device and the fixed message indicator, the dynamic messaging system retrieves a fixed message from a memory of the receiving device based upon the fixed message indicator. In response to receiving the message presentation request identifying the receiving device and the dynamic message indicator, the dynamic messaging system receives a dynamic message from an information stream communicated from the program distributor.
Abstract:
There is provided a portable riser having an operator actuated lifting assist assembly operatively coupled to a riser deck. In one aspect, there is a first pivot mechanism coupled to a first support leg and adapted to initiate upward movement of the portable riser from a collapsed position when a downward force is applied to the first support leg, and a second pivot mechanism coupled to a second support leg and adapted to continue the upward movement. The lifting assist assembly provides a lifting force that continues upward movement to an upright position where the portable riser in locked. There is included a riser unlocking means for unlocking the lifting assist assembly. The portable riser remains in the upright position until the riser unlocking means is operated and a collapsing force is applied to the portable riser sufficient to overcome the lifting force and enable collapsed of the portable riser.
Abstract:
Thermally-stable polycrystalline diamond materials of this invention comprise a first phase including a plurality of bonded together diamond crystals, and a second phase including a reaction product formed between a binder/catalyst material and a material reactive with the binder/catalyst material. The reaction product is disposed within interstitial regions of the polycrystalline diamond material that exists between the bonded diamond crystals. The first and second phases are formed during a single high pressure/high temperature process condition. The reaction product has a coefficient of thermal expansion that is relatively closer to that of the bonded together diamond crystals than that of the binder/catalyst material, thereby providing an improved degree of thermal stability to the polycrystalline diamond material.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus are disclosed for generating multiple separate analog signals using a single microcontroller output pin. The microcontroller generates a waveform that is used to concurrently generate multiple separate analog signals. The microcontroller outputs a waveform that includes a first signal from one of the microcontroller's output pins. The first signal is used to produce a first analog signal. The microcontroller then outputs a delineating signal, as part of the waveform, from the microcontroller's output pin. The delineating signal indicates the start of a next signal in the waveform. The microcontroller then outputs a second signal, as part of the waveform, from its output pin. The second signal is used to produce a second analog signal. The waveform includes the first signal that is followed by the delineating signal that is followed by the second signal.
Abstract:
There is provided an apparatus for a folding table assembly comprising a lifting assist center torsion bar assembly, a lift off caster assembly and a stability locking mechanism. A folding table assembly with a lifting assist mechanism provides a lifting assist force during a portion of the folding process of a foldable table from an unfolded use position to a folded storage position. A lift off caster assembly maintains an unfolded table assembly in a stationary position and prevents the unfolded table from wandering or deviating from its original location on the floor. There is also provided a stability locking mechanism that can set the folding table in a folded and stable semi-closed position.

Abstract:
Cutting elements of this invention include an ultra hard body joined with a metallic substrate. The body includes an uppermost layer comprising a plurality of bonded ultra hard crystals and interstitial regions, and that defines a body working surface. The uppermost layer includes an outer region that is relatively more thermally stable than a remaining portion of the uppermost layer. The body further includes an intermediate layer joined to the uppermost layer, comprising a plurality of bonded ultra hard crystals, and having a wear resistance less than that of the uppermost layer remaining region. The body may additionally include a lowermost PCD layer that is interposed between and attached to the intermediate layer and the substrate.
Abstract:
The disclosed massive multi-player on-line gaming environment and method eliminate the coordination and synchronization problems between servers by assigning each game user to a specific client proxy server for game duration and utilizing a space information distribution center to indicate client specific changes in game space. Such configuration eliminates the need to use “grey” areas around partitioning boundaries and servers having to “own” client objects thereby improving massive multi-player on-line gaming scalability.
