摘要: A process of manufacturing a chromium alloyed molybdenum silicide portion of a heating element comprising the steps of: forming a mixture of a chromium powder and a silicon powder; reacting the mixture to a reaction product in an inert atmosphere at a temperature of at least 1100° C. but not more than 1580° C.; converting the reaction product to a powder comprising CrSi2; forming a powder ceramic composition by mixing the powder comprising CrSi2 with a MoSi2 powder and optionally with an extrusion aid; forming the portion of the heating element; and sintering the portion of the heating element in a temperature of from about 1450° C. to about 1700° C.; characterized in that the chromium powder and the silicon powder are provided separately to the mixture.

摘要: The present disclosure relates to an electrostatic chuck and a method of manufacturing the same. A problem in that the yield of a wafer is reduced due to a partial destruction phenomenon attributable to thermal expansion of an electrostatic chuck is solved and the lifespan of a wafer is increased by making a coefficient of thermal expansion of a lower plate of an electrostatic chuck similar to a coefficient of thermal expansion of an upper plate of the electrostatic chuck.

摘要: A method of fabricating a ceramic matrix composite includes generating a stream of vaporized precursor and, optionally, a vaporized rare earth element. The vaporized precursor is a precursor of either silicon carbide or silicon nitride. The stream flows for one or more periods of time through a chamber that contains a fibrous structure such that the fibrous structure is exposed to the stream. The fibrous structure initially contains no silicon carbide matrix or silicon nitride matrix. The vaporized precursor deposits over the period of time on the fibrous structure as a substantially fully dense ceramic matrix of either the silicon carbide or the silicon nitride. For at least a portion of the period of time, the vaporized rare earth element is included in the stream such that the ceramic matrix deposited during that time includes dispersed rare earth element.

摘要: The present invention provides for carbide ceramic matrix composite comprising Cf/C—SiC-xMC wherein Cf/C is a carbon fiber reinforced carbon matrix, x is at least 2, and wherein MC are carbides of transition metals with M being at least two different transition metals selected from the group consisting of titanium, zirconium, hafnium, vanadium, niobium, tantalum, chromium, molybdenum, and tungsten. The invention further provides for a method for manufacturing the composite.

摘要: A method of fabricating a ceramic article includes providing a porous body that includes a plurality of fiber bundles that has an intra-bundle porosity and an inter-bundle porosity, infiltrating the intra-bundle porosity and the inter-bundle porosity with a mixture of particles in a liquid carrier, the particles having an average size selected with respect to at least the intra-bundle porosity, removing the liquid carrier from the porous body to deposit the particles in the intra-bundle porosity and in the inter-bundle porosity, infiltrating a preceramic polymer into a remaining intra-bundle porosity and a remaining inter-bundle porosity, and thermally converting the preceramic polymer to a ceramic material.

In one embodiment, a composition is generally provided that includes a silicon-containing material and such a boron-doped refractory compound.

In one embodiment, a polycrystalline diamond compact includes a polycrystalline diamond body having a plurality of diamond grains bonded together in diamond-to-diamond bonds, interstitial volumes positioned between the adjacent diamond grains, and a parting compound positioned in at least a portion of the interstitial volumes of the polycrystalline diamond body.

摘要: A method includes providing a ceramic fiber preform with a range of 20 to 40 volume percent fiber which can include silicon carbide fibers; coating the ceramic fiber preform with a boron nitride interface coating; infiltrating the ceramic fiber preform with a ceramic matrix with a range of 20 to 40 volume percent silicon carbide; infiltrating the ceramic fiber preform with a constituent material such as boron carbide, boron, and carbon; and infiltrating the ceramic fiber preform with a eutectic melt material where the metallic eutectic melt can include at least one material from a group consisting of: a transition metal-silicon eutectic melt such as zirconium silicide, a transition metal-boride eutectic melt such as zirconium boride, and a transition metal-carbide eutectic melt such as zirconium carbide.

摘要: A composite material and a method of using the composite material. The composite material consists of at least 65 volume percent cubic boron nitride (cBN) grains dispersed in a binder matrix, the binder matrix comprising a plurality of microstructures bonded to the cBN grains and a plurality of intermediate regions between the cBN grains; the microstructures comprising nitride or boron compound of a metal; and the intermediate regions including a silicide phase containing the metal chemically bonded with silicon; in which the content of the silicide phase is 2 to 6 weight percent of the composite material, and in which the cBN grains have a mean size of 0.2 to 20 μm.
